Help me decide between NEO X8-H and NEO U9-H

#1
Hi,

Newbie here.
I'm thinking of getting an android box for the first time, and these two models are on the menu.
I only know that the X8 is an older model.
I'm primarily planning to use it for IPTV and maybe kodi.
There is a big difference in price, so If the X8 is sufficient to be used, without lagging or anything, I will go for this model.

THanks for any help

Besides, if your doubt is between an X8-H (not the PLUS version which is a different machine) and the U9-H, then your doubt has no reason to be because you wish to use Kodi, and the new versions of Kodi don't run in Android 4 any longer. Hope this helps.

Thx a lot guys!.Very helpful forum.
I have the U9-H on sale for around 50-60 eur so I think for that price, its the best choice. Unless you suggest something different :)
Make sure it is a genuine thing, down here a new one goes from around 140 to 170 eur. It would be great if you could get it with the A2 Lite remote, as the two often sell in a bundle.

One more thing. Is there My Tv Online 2 app or dedicated middleware android app?
I was told that I should be looking for this when buying a box.

The best part of getting a pure Android box instead of an Android TV box is that you can add so many more apps you wish to have comparing to what you would get with an Android TV box or the popular TV sticks.

The U9-H is a pure Android box, and so you have thousands of apps at your disposal in the Google Play store that you can test and download and remove at your best needs. It is almost the same as you can do with a smartphone, but better directed to media playing. An Android TV box is far more limited in which apps you can have available, and the same goes for the small TV sticks, you can get limited if they don't sell packed with the software to allow you some good enjoyable functions, because bringing extra apps into them is not so easy.

The apps you mention are likely to be available in their internet websites or even at the Playstore, I didn't check, however you should be careful when bringing any software from outside the safe Playstore environment into your box, since they are sometimes bloated with adverts and malware that can even steal your personal data. Keep in mind that you can also use your Minix box to some serious business as well, such as some office tasks or banking management! Truly! You just have to install the correct apps as you would in any smartphone.

The U9-H comes from factory with a bunch of very interesting and powerful apps that you will learn to love once you start using and being comfortable with. And it has all the flexibility for you to install most (apart from one of two exceptions) newest available apps required to a very pleasant media playing experience. And also the capability to read content available in a network and extend the available disk space to fill with your own files and collections through external drives that can be added to the several ports.
