As there is no official support for cards larger than 256gb, you may face some issues...

Yes, good point
.
The largest I ever tested with a U22 was 200 GB, but that's only because that was the highest capacity micro SD I actually had at the time subjectively. (I now use a couple of Sandisk's 512 GB cards with a Surface Pro 7 but they're still not exactly cheap for capacity vs price obviously.)
Android 9 can "technically" support 512 GB but as yet I don't think many end users have actually posted back with details of using a 512 GB card in a U22(???). Again, cost possibly being a common factor or those that do purchase these larger cards tend to do so specifically for hardware such as cameras, phones, tablets, etc. & purchase HDD's or NAS for use with their media hubs. What's more, if someone were able to successfully use a 512 GB card, there's also no guarantees that cards from different brands would all work by default too. Some may function in a U22 while some may not. (Obviously, there's only one way to find out if the information hasn't already been shared by other U22 end users.)
Some end users also reported using 512 GB micro SDs in the older U9-H as well which also shouldn't have "technically" supported any 512 GB micro SD cards either, but it seems a limited number actually worked. While this is absolutely no guarantee that the U22 would also function the same way (as the U9-H & the U22 are two very different machines indeed), it as at least an indication that it's certainly a possibility
. Again, trial & error may be the only way to know & 512 GB cards aren't particularly cheap for the trial & error route. Although, if it's "fulfilled by Amazon" hehe
, (enough said)!!!
If additional storage space were the only deciding issue & no other considerations were a factor at all.....
....Given the approximate cost of a 512 GB micro SD vs something like a 6 TB external HDD too, & the 6 TB HDD literally only costing an additional 10-20 £, € or $ respectively..... Why restrict one's options to a high capacity micro SD at such a high relative cost when considerably larger HDD's are available at a similar cost as well
??
