How to boot U1 to SD card?

I finally got CoreElec installed internally onto my U9-H. Now I am looking to do the same on my U1.

I have made the SC card with CoreElec 8.99.2 on it. But no matter what I try, I cannot get the U1 to boot to the SD card. I have tried the SD card slot, nothing. I have tried all 3 USB ports, again nothing.

I have tried a long press on the power button when booting. I get the android logo. Sometimes that is all I get, sometimes I get the blue pulsing minix screen, but I never get beyond that.

I have even tried holding the reset button while booting, but all that gets me is the android recovery screen.

I must be missing something. Any ideas?

Remove the power cable, press power button and keep it pressed, plug the power cable again and wait for more than 6 sec.

With my U9-H i never could boot from a SD card, only USB pendrive.

Well, I tried that, including using a USB pendrive, all to no avail.
Everytime it sticks on the android logo screen.

Are you sure your ISO is OK ?
I tried many distributions (CoreElec, LibreElec) and all were working with my USB pendrive.

Yes, I think the ISO's are ok. Now I think there is a problem with the U1.

I cannot get it to boot at all. It always just sticks at the android logo startup screen.
When I try to reflash the official U1 firmware 13, I get an error message a few seconds into DDR downloading.

In other words, I think my U1 is bricked. Any ideas on how to UNBRICK a U1?

Ahhhhh. Ok. Sorry, my bad.

I just realized why I am having problems. It seems the box I thought was a U1, is, in fact, an X8-H+.:rolleyes:

Ok, so I have retrieved the real U1 and I will start over.:p

I will work on fixing the X8-H later.

Have you already tried to flash the full firmware with USB tools method ?
Ok, done. Installed CoreElec 9.0.0 onto my U1 on first try.

My apologies to everyone for my X8-H mistake.
:D(y)

After updating the U1 to CoreElec 9, I updated the X8-H+ to the Finless ROM.
All is working well now.
Thank you and my apologies for the X8-H mixup.
