How to disable capturing keypresses on remote by U9?

I am configuring Kodi, and would like to repurpose home or power button - but U9 seems to intercept these remote buttons.
How do I get rid if this behaviour?

How do I get rid if this behaviour?

The power button works directly through IR rather than the wireless dongle, as such you probably won't be able to reprogram it in this manner.

The home button is hard coded to the main launcher/home screen for obvious reasons.
