How to install CoreELEC on the U22-XJ

Please check information regarding this on this box. The display settings inside Android (which is still installed on the box as it cannot be completely replaced) do affect certain aspects of coreelec. I speak from experience.

CoreElec do not use Android anymore. It's a Linux kernel with a Linux Kodi version.
CoreElec is affected by display settings in the underlying Android OS in this minix model. (Android cannot be completely rewritten in this model)
I don't know why, but it is like this from experience. Please read about it... (it affected the automatic HDR settings in the past for me)

Yes I agree.
The android display settings certainly have an influence on the display when booting to CoreElec

Why ? ... I dont know !

FYI: I've resolved my refresh rate issue by removing any 24hz or similar resolutions from the white list in Kodi (setup\system\display\whitelist). Now my content is all playing at 60hz as it should.

If you previously had certain entries added to your whitelist & you've since removed them again, you may now be able to set the adjust display refresh rate setting to on start/stop with improved results.

Your display should then successfully adjust the refresh rate instead of just remaining at 60Hz regardless which can in some cases cause additional problems such as micro stuttering or juddering.

The start resolution and refresh rate is fine. It's the auto switching when playing content that doesn't work properly.
