I Just Can't Decide

A few days ago I posted about my U1 having some problems, specifically graphical artifacting. I've had the box for a really long time and I'm afraid that it's starting to get close to the end of its life. I've been trying to decide what I should do to replace my U1 and I just can't make up my mind. I know that the U9H is the successor to the box that I have, but one thing that really bothers me is paying for a device which is essentially has the same specifications as my current box with only minimal improvements. One area that I think Minix current generation of boxes are severely lacking is RAM. I don't do very much on my box, I use kodi of course, check my email and browse the web occasionally as well as play my one favorite game World Series Of Poker. As the applications I use have continued to receive updates the box has gotten considerably slower, now reaching a point where even something as simple as my web browser will crash out of nowhere presumably because of a lack of RAM.

I'm now faced with the possibility of getting a different android box, and without knowing when or even if Minix has anything planned in the pipeline I don't know if it is best hang in there and wait for something new, or go ahead and buy a new box. I have had my eye on a brand-new box from Bee-link which comes equipped with 4 GB of LP DDR4, 64 GB of internal storage, multiple USB 3.0 ports and is powered by the Amlogic S922X processor.

It looks fantastic on paper and I've seen a few reviews and to be honest I've liked them. But if I'm also being honest, I'm hesitant to leave Minix as I believe their customer support is unmatched.

Can anyone offer any insight into what they think I should do?
Thanks

Don't be swayed by the "technicals", watched a YouTube review on this unit today as I also saw its supposed benefits but after you dig deeper - No Way Jose !!!

You can have one device with better hardware than another....
But that hardware must be supported by the software.
With Minix you get great support, upgrades, etc.
Hardware is nothing with weak software, keep that in mind.

And yes you are right the Minix customer support is unmatched.

I know that's definitely a risk, which is why I am hesitant to pick one up, that and the fact that I literally have to order it from China and if I don't like it I'm pretty much stuck with it because I don't know that I would go through the hassle to return it. Mainly what I want out of it is more RAM but you are absolutely right, the hardware can be perfect but if the software is buggy and crashes every five minutes with those gains are put to waste

I still use my U1 on a daily basis and for much the same reasons as yourself and experience no issues whatsoever

To my mind the U1 is actually a better , more stable box than the U9-H and nowhere near end of life.
Check your HDMI cabling to see if this is the cause of your graphical artifcats.

Read what you want into the link provided by @Villa but I would say hold on for a while...

I have also used a Beelink previously (GT1 ultimate ) if i remember correctly and wasnt impressed with it despite glowing youtube reviews , probably because they had an affliate link with Gearbest ?

The 2 best devices are the shield and u1/u9h... If you want 4k hdr you'll need either a shield or a u9-h.. If 4k youtube Netflix ect then I'd suggest shield.
