Impossible scrolling with air mouse

Hi everyone
I ask for your help in the hope of solving a serious problem with my newly purchased Neo U22 minix.
I proceeded to connect the box to the TV and update the firmware to the latest version (V003A) via manual procedure because through OTA it was impossible.
I did everything correctly and the box updated.
I did a factory reset via recovery mode.
I then proceeded to configure the box and install the apps (I have owned the NEO U1 for a few years and I have never encountered the following problem).
I use an Air Mouse Minix Neo A3 (model with backlight), which I use even without any problem on the Neo U1.

However, I realized that scrolling of web pages (Chrome, Internet Samsung), and in many applications (Amazon app, Gmail, etc. ..) does not work via air mouse.
Instead of scrolling the pages, the text is selected without the possibility of dragging the page up or down. It only works using the directional arrows (somewhat inconvenient).
This for me is a serious problem that prevents me from using the box normally, as I do with the Neo U1.
I use the box for internet browsing, for reading and writing emails, for Word, Excel, for the online shop via Amazon, Ebay, etc. and scrolling with the air mouse is indispensable.


Is it a bug? Does this also happen to you or is it a problem with my U22 box? Hopefully how can I resolve?

With the Minix Neo U1 and before with the Neo X7 it has never encountered this problem.

This is due to the update of code in chromium based web browsers, the only fix is to install an older version. I use Samsung Internet 6.4.10.5 this was the last working version with the airmouse for me. Firefox does not suffer from this problem so you could try that too.

Regarding the apps, this I have no idea unfortunately.

Could you solve it with a firmware update? This scrolling problem prevents me from using the box and I have to decide whether to return the Neo U22 (at the time of I was very disappointed because of this limitation). Why don't I have this problem with Neo U1 even with apps updated to the latest version?

No one appears to have come up with an answer!

Since Chrome V57 these issues have been there for newer MINIX devices. Whether it's an Android version issue or a firmware issue, who knows?!

I read it a while back so can't remember exaclty, I will dig it up again for you. But off the top of my head it was to do with the security changes in Android 6 related to overlay, something like that so don't quote me until we have the truth (y)
 
Even the Adobe Acrobat reader app has the same problem ... and I have not yet finished installing and testing all the apps I use ... what a mess ... if it is only the internet browser I can use another but unfortunately there are many apps that have this problem

Also Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel Same problem ... I get to cry ... I think if I can't find a solution within a week I'll have to return the box and look for more ... Too bad because with Minix I've always found myself well

I'm sorry to say but you will experience the same on any box with Android 6 and up, I know you are disappointed that the regular apps you have used are not working but you should try alternatives, for pdf try Google pdf viewer, this works as it should with the airmouse on the U22:

For your use case I would have thought a Windows device would be more suited!

I always used Minix Android boxes also for productivity. I've got a U1 fully operational, but now that I got the U22 I really would prefer not having to go back to that one, although it is a great machine.

- For pdf, should you wish to try something more sophisticated than Adobe Reader, "Xodo PDF Reader and Editor" from the Play Store. Since I found it I deleted Adobe Reader.

- For Office docs I use WPS Office, also from the Play Store..

- In the U22 I left Chrome at factory level (no updates allowed) and started using Firefox, with fewer complaints. Chrome was also causing trouble in the U9-H from some point of updates, but there the factory version was working well.

Thanks guys for the answers and suggestions. I will try to use the apps you have indicated to me. Thanks and I hope we can find a definitive solution to the problem perhaps using root privileges. Or I hope in some custom rom that somehow solves the problem
 
I hope this problem gets resolved soon because it's very annoying. Does anyone has another branded Android 9 box and confirm they too have the same problem or it's just Minix boxes?

I have a Minix Neo U9-H (Android 6.0) and I too have the problem of airmouse-scrolling-not-allowed in some apps. I confirm that it is a very annoying issue.
I had a Minix Neo U1 (Android 5.1.1) in the past and I never had this issue on that.
The advice of using old app versions is not a solution for everyone. Nowadays many apps don't allow the usage of old versions, they display a startup message that version upgrade is mandatory to keep on using the app.
 
I'm on this forum to have a solution from Minix, it's not the opposite.
I checked with some people using the same apps that I use. They have android tv boxes from other brands and they not have the airmouse-no-scrolling-allowed issue on their android tv boxes.
It seems to me this is a Minix issue. A firmware update for Neo U9-H and U22-XJ is needed.

Could you please tell me the name and model of these other brands so I can compare the ROMs against the U9 and U22 ROMs. My understanding is that this is a "touch-action" CSS property issue within the coding of the app itself which affects scrolling in Android 6 and above, but I am happy to be proven wrong if the other brand ROMs prove otherwise.
 
I also have mouse control scrolling problem for most applications. Some applications screens just couldn’t even drag so have to use the remote keyboard for scrolling the screen. It is very tedious. Hope the next firmware update can improve mouse control scrolling. Thanks
