internet connection not working

Hi all. New here so sorry if this has been asked before.
I have 2 boxes with the same issue, both were working on wifi untill yesterday! Now neither work. All i have done is altered the position of router. Now neither box works, have tried a factory reset on one box and hard wiring it but still nothing. The boxes show i have connection both wired on one and wifi on other both with strong signals but neither will connect. Any ideas?? Wifes missing her cooking shows so need to get it up and running for easy life!!
 
Hi.
Since you have changed the position of router (another division of your home i think...) your router as already made a restart.

Since you have tested with wired connection and dont work, your problem must be your router.

Try first with a mobile phone and see if you can have internet.

If that dont work it is better to do a factory reset on your router (try first a reboot and see if it works, disconnect everything from the router, rj45 cables connected, etc, ) .

Maybe you changed many things on your router also and is not working properly.

Thanks for that but everything else is working fine, laptop,tv phones etc only boxes have stopped
 
Hum ok.
Ensure first your router is working properly, configurations.

If your router is working well then next step is :
Ensure that one minix box is working well (restart, etc)...
Factory reset in minix must be your last resort, you lose your data, configurations, etc. make a backup first.

Then if you have one minix working well do the same for the other ☺

The boxes themselves work as in turn on, load up and show they connect to internet ie green bars on wireless and green on ethernet and showing connected under settings,but when you actually go to go online there is no connection either wired or wireless. I have done a factory reset on one box and it still doesnt work

By the way and normally internet must work even with beta firmware.

What firmware version do you have? (U9-H)
Do you have two U9-H boxes?

Do you have another device between router and minix? Like for example a switch?

Your internet must work either in wifi or ethernet if it is properly configured.

I remember now:
If your browser (chrome for example) has internet, youtube works than your internet works...

If you use one app that dont work maybe you think you have no Internet, and the problem is that particular app that dont work
....

reccomend you either use ethernet or wifi but do not have both on at the same time on the minix

if ethernet then check physical connection to minix and router, and turn off wifi on minix. Power off both router and minx , and then power on router till all lights flash etc and then power on minix

if using wifi do similar re powering off but forget the connection ssid in minix and reapply wifi with ssid password

-If you can enter the web page of your router and see if you have internet.
-Another thing you can do is check the manual or if you already know the colour (led light) of your router when internet is on.

@pusb87 i use ethernet cable and wifi connected at the same time without any problems.
The devices (android or win 10) gives priority when ethernet cable is connected and disables wifi (the system does automaticaly)
I think and i almost sure windows 7 does not do that automaticaly (so normaly if i use win 7 i disable the connection i dont use).

To be sure (when we have issues) of course we can disable wifi when ethernet is on.
 
Hi all, sorry for delay, just to clarify a few things. Internet works on every other device in house laptop, phones tv etc. I had 2 u9 h boxes working great on wifi 2 days ago all apps on boxes fine, all that has changed is the router has moved 2 feet. When i turned the boxes back on everything was the same as before, green bars on wifi and showing that i was connected, however none of the apps would connect to internet, firefox, speed test, play store,iptv nothing would work. I then took one box and hardwired it to router after turning wifi off, it was then showing a green light on ethernet and saying it was connected. However no apps would connect. Did a factory reset on that box, still get same result says its connected but doesnt actually connect. The other box which is on wifi is turned off and unplugged as i tested the wired box. So to sum up boxes tell me they are connected but actually aren't and no apps work
 
All i can say is thanks for all your time and help, have just retried the boxes and everthing is up and running!! I have no idea what happened!! Guessing they wanted a break, i went from having nothing working to everthing working fine with me doing absolutely nothing to fix it!! Think i will run for president next!! Again thanks for the help.
