On model Z83-4 PRO is it possible to install the original firmware image on the external drive?
Which drive is the fastest USB 3.0 or MicroSDCard?
Please help, there is no space after updates, and my apps.

I think the best for you is :
backup your data to external usb or NAS for example

Then install OS in internal eMMC:

and use your personal data on:

external usb or NAS for example

This procedure already performed and later windows made the updates, the system drive ran out of space.
Some applications I need do not allow me to install on a different system drive.
So I am in doubt if it is possible to install the firmware on an external USB 3.0 - SSD drive?

Change the boot OK.
How to install firmware (windows 10 minix) on this external drive?
The best in my opinion is disable eMMC (in the bios) and install on SSD , this way you can be sure that the system is not installed on eMMC.

Then you can enable again internal storage

I don´t locate in BIOS option for disable internal eMMC. Only boot option priorities, and UEFI Boot Squence.
Do I need to update the BIOS Z83-4 PRO ?
My Bios version is 2.17.1249
Project Version: CHTA 1.70 x64
Version 1.8 is on the site, but I'm not sure about compatibility.

I updated the BIOS to version 1.8
I changed the BIOS settings:
Mobile-SSD Install OS - ENABLED
SCC EMMC Support - DISABLED

I booted from the thumb drive with the Minix installation image.
In the USB 3.0 port is connected my SSD-Disk where the system will be installed.
During the installation boot a red window with the error:
- the os backup partition size: 5903MB
- the recovery partition size: 748MB

How should I proceed to install the system on the SSD connected to the USB 3.0 port?

Please help me

YouTube video pasted in below that you may find useful if only in part, (you can advance to approx 1 min 10 sec if you can't be bothered to watch the whole thing ;)).

(Note - Obviously, it is intended for the MINIX Neo N42C-4 but the concept is the same as what you're looking to achieve running Win 10 from an external SSD. (Personally, I haven't tried this with the Neo Z83-4 Pro to confirm it will definitely work either, I've ran a Neo N42C-4 for the past 2 years or so using its internal M.2 slot.)

The point is, you could try copying your existing & functioning Windows installation from the internal eMMC over to your external SSD as outlined in the video, run it, & everything should be ready to go based on your current setup etc. Links to the required software & various additional information are included with the video.

Have you also tried running the Windows disk cleanup tool (cleanup system files) with your existing eMMC Win 10 installation? (If nothing else, you can clean it up a little first before migration to your external SSD, but it may free up more space than you anticipated if you haven't previously performed any clean ups.)

Is that of any use?
