J50C-4

Hello,

I bought a J50C-4. Why is there nothing to find on the minix forum?

SooS
As far as I'm aware they haven't been released yet due to an Intel CPU shortage.
Hence we haven't created a thread for it yet.

But I have one and where can I ask questions about it? If I bought one...at least 1 of you beside Jorge must have it also or not? This is how the forum works or not?

NEO J50C-4 has not been officially released yet. It won't be on general sale until next year once the CPU shortage situation has improved.
A very small quantiy of NEO J50C-4 have been shipped to resellers for testing/evaluation purposes, and I assume some of these units have been sold to customers before the official release date.
We won't add a section to the forum until the official release date.

Where can I find the BIOS and other drivers like I find of the N42C. It can be that I buy something and I have to wait is it?

Yes, unfortunately you will have to wait @SooS!! The current status of the Neo J50C-4 has been clearly explained. You can't expect Minix to provide support for a product they haven't officially released & it's pointless to continue to ask. (It could be argued that you're lucky to even have the device at all!) These devices were sent out in good faith to a very specific group of individuals/organisations for pre-release testing & evaluation. One or more have obviously betrayed that good faith if they're selling them on. (Quite frankly, they were bang out of order.)

Ultimately, you need to discuss all of these issues with the individual/organisation that sold you the device. As things currently stand, they are your primary point of support if you need assistance. If they cannot provide the support you require, I would suggest a direct return & refund ;).

I'm not criticising you @SooS, after all there are MANY people out there with a burning desire to be amongst the first to own a new product. (Having said that, it would have been a good idea to first check the official status of what you were buying.) The main problem here is undoubtedly the untrustworthy ****** you handed your money to.

You can always create a system image backup if you require such peace of mind until the official release date ;). Until then, enjoy the device & be patient :).

We shall contact all our resellers who have so far received NEO J50C-4 to clarify the situation regarding this model and its lack of support until its official release next year – once the Intel CPU shortage improves.

It’s unfair to blame the reseller in SooS’s case, we take responsibility for not making it clearer to our official resellers that this model isn’t currently receiving official support.

It’s our fault, which is why I have offered to assist SooS if he wants to return the NEO J50C-4 for a full refund.

I have got a NEO J50C-4. It's working great for me.

However, I have got a problem when trying to increase the amount of RAM.

I tries to install 2 8GB sticks of DDR4 RAM, and it won't boot.

The model of the RAM i used is ADATA 8GB ( DDR4 2400 PC4-19200 )

There is nothing in the BIOS menu that helps this issue.

Can you please help take a look

Thanks,
