Kodi auto framerate switch addon

For smooth video playing auto framerate switch must be activated in Kodi or stutters/judders can appear in videos.
A such mechanism exists in Kodi but for some reasons it may not work.

Here is a Kodi addon to help you with this issue :
Kodi.AmLogic.script.frequency.switcher

- Unactivate Auto Framerate switch in Kodi AND Android
- Go to Kodi extensions
- Install from ZIP
- Install from Repo
- Go to Extensions again
- Start the service

Will this do "wonders" for my X8 Plus ? Got a 22" monitor behind it (HDMI) and refresh rates on that are 50/60 hz.
Kodi 18.0(Libreelec), Auto Framerate switch = on and whitelisted 1920x1080 60hz - 1920x1080 50hz and same for the 720.
Movies play great but older series have some stutter and judder.

Please, where can I find in the Minix Neo U1 menu and in the Kodi18 possibility to unactivate Auto Frame rate?
I tried to install that addon in Kodi but installation failed "due to an invalide structure".

Minix > Playback Settings
Kodi > Player > Videos
I set the values according to your recommendation and took photos.
The add-on still refuses to install. See photos.
Am I doing something wrong?

you dont need the addon
And what should I do so that movies with 24 (25) fps do not stutter and judder with Kodi? XBMC and SPMC can dynamically adjust the output of Minix according to the frame rate of the film, so the video is smooth. However, XBMC and SPMC are old and do not support new add-ons.

Don't waste time like I did trying to get AFR working on the U1 with kodi 17 and above, got straight for CoreELEC and you will have AFR, tried and tested by myself:

Does the CoreELEC support Kodi and other SW like Android in the Minix? Is a manual to change FW here or on the web? And is it suitable for my Minix?

Thank you very much to all for your help, I installed CoreELEC on the USB and it seems that all problems are gone. Video playback is smooth, everything works fine, remote, add-ons, so I am happy now!

Is it normal than auto framerate doesnt work in CoreELEC because all the videos files that I choose are playingat the same resolution and frame rate that I choose for CoreELEC GUI. I choosed 3840x2160p 60hz and all the videos are playing at that framerate.

Yes I choosed the option for AFR in the video player menu settings : adjust display refresh rate
OFF
On start/stop
On start

I choosed On start/stop but no adjust occurs

Well, it should !
Same settings as yours and works fine here.
CoreElec 9.2.3

My question is : if AFR is enabled automatically, does it mean :

1) It affects ONLY frame rate but not the resolution at which CoreELEC will play the video file
What I mean is if the GUI in CoreELEC is 3840x2160p and the video file is in 1080p there will be no change at the resolution of the GUI. It will display in 3840x2160p and CoreELEC or my TV will upscale the 1920x1080 video at 3840x2160p.

2) When AFR is started we WILL NOT see on the screen the change of the framerate.
30hz video file will play smootly at that framerate but I WILL NOT see the change of 60hz to 30hz on my TV.
And when pressing "O' on the keyboard to see the video data information like resolution, codecs, framerate, CPU usage, etc I see the original framerate of the video at the left of the screen. At the right of the screen I see the infos of the GUI of CoreELEC choosen and they will not be the same. That should be normal ?

I use CoreELEC defaut skins to check the framerate difference (ESTUARY)

Yes, you can check it when you TV switch to the good frame rate, the resolution remains the same (4K), so if you play a 1080p movie or less, the movie will be upscaled

Framerate chane is here to avoid stuttering, do you encounter stutters or not ?
