Kodi HD audio passthrough options missing.

Hi,

Can any U22xj owners tell me if they can get the HD audio passthrough options to appear in kodi (DTS-HD & TrueHD) as no matter what I do I can't get those to appear. All U22 audio settings are correct but kodi won't show the HD passthrough options!

I upgraded from the U9 a few weeks ago & I think this is t first time I've gone to use kodi passthrough, had no issues with hd audio on my U9 so wondering if others with the U22 are having the same issue.

The options aren't showing up for me either in Kodi. Just installed SPMC a Kodi fork and they appear OK there, though I haven't checked to see if they actually work.

This is a known issue already reported in the Bug Tracker thread.
 
Cheers for the replies, what a bummer & it looks like the latest firmware that's due imminently doesn't fix the HD audio passthrough problem either, so much for fixing those issues ASAP, it's not exactly a minor issue either in my opinion.

I will ultimately return my device to amazon for a refund if this is not fixed shortly , this negates the whole reason I upgraded from my minix U1

Yeah I wouldn't of 'upgraded!' from the U9 if I knew HD audio passthrough was busted, CoreElec is an option until Minix sort this out but In my opinion they should have worked on getting this fixed in the last firmware instead of all that samba stuff.

I have also noticed that after a reboot even though t root switch is still on i need to cycle it or root will not be active, i use an ad block app that needs root. All in all i had to hook up my NEO U1 to enjoy my videos I am very disappointed.

This is fixed in FW004.
 
So Minix, is this major bug going to be sorted in the next firmware, I need to know because my return window with amazon for a full refund runs out on the 31st of July & right now this 'media hub' is nothing but a paper weight for 90% of my movie collection as they all have dolby atmos soundtracks.

Running CoreElec ain't an option due to a number of android apps which I use frequently.

I understand your frustration and I too am waiting for the audio fixes, but in the meantime I am happy to use Coreelec for Kodi and then switch to android OS for other apps. It takes just 30 secs or so to reboot into Android.

Are there really any apps that you need to run at the same time as Kodi in Android that prevents you from using CoreElec ?

Well I use torguard vpn app with kodi but I don't need it when viewing local content so if I can dual boot CoreElec & android thats an option for sure. Do you dual boot CoreElec by installing it onto an sd card/usb drive & booting from that instead of the internal storage?

OK, as a i guessed ! , so you can use a VPN manager on Corelec >> https://github.com/Zomboided/service.vpn.manager/archive/master.zip

It has presets for many of the common vpn providers ( Torguard is supported) (y)

I have Coreelec installed on an SD card and if i want to boot into Android i simply just pop the card out
 
Hi. You just need to update your kodi app on the app store - then passthrough should be active. Also make sure you are in expert settings on kodi. It's not an issue with minix - just a kodi update issue.

HD audio options showing for passthrough is not the issue, its the fact that they dont work correctly ...its a minix issue requiring a firmware fix.
 
Just curious, does passthrough work properly on CoreElec?

I am still waiting on my U22 to arrive. Just got notice it has cleared customs, so with luck, maybe sometime this week.

Yes, HD audio works fine, but multichannel AAC has issues, as it does on U22 android
