I have a U9-H but wanted an S922S box so bought an Odroid N2 around February because the U22 was not out.

I had the same thing on that box - everything seemed to work well EXCEPT AAC multi-channel. AAC stereo was OK and I could upmix that to psuedo surround using Kodi setup. I don't have much of that AAC encode (older) material anymore and the few media I valued the AAC multichannel audio stream was converted to AC3 using makemkv.

I have also found one must set the source mode to PCM (channels are RAW on ^o display) to enable the most audio formats on the pass through.

Just curious, does passthrough work properly on CoreElec?

I am still waiting on my U22 to arrive. Just got notice it has cleared customs, so with luck, maybe sometime this week.

All the passthrough options work perfectly fine in CoreELEC, I just tested ATMOS/DTS:X with U22-XJ and latest stable release of CoreELEC last night and my receiver (Denon X3600H) picked up the streams fine.

For now your best option for Kodi is to use Coreelec, it works great.

Minix have advised they are seeking to fix HD audio passthrough on Android but no firm timeline. It appears to be a common issue on all boxes with android firmware that use the same chipset as the U22

Seems this is still broken in the latest 005FW rekease, can anyone else confirm if that's the case. Seems no matter what I can't get HD audio options to appear in kodi (yes expert is selected so all possible options appear in kodi settings).

All audio settings in android are correct, HD audio options are enabled, everything should be working, if the latest fw was supposed to fix this bug that is.

check the FW005 changelog...no fix mentioned for HD audio, and so yes , it is still broken

Yes I saw it wasn't listed but neither is there any known issue list mentioning about it not working, like there was with previous firmwares hence not being 100% sure if it was fixed or not.

You could try the MRMC app which is a bespoke fork of Kodi, (there is a free lite version to try) the HD audio option are in tgere, but I can't get any sound out of mine not even standard sound ( had sound originally but then lost it, but that could be something I've done)

Was worth a shot toi try but no luck, clearly the HD audio passthrough is still broken in fw005, very disappointing after waiting over two months for a new firmware release!

I had the same problem. No sound came out for HD audio of any kind, Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA.

HD Audio is still broken in firmware 006 as well
