Language Assistance, Please

My X8-H plus has operated flawlessly for many years - until 2 days ago. Suddenly, out of the blue, the rename function (using the remote after highlighting a filename) started working wrong and only in Chinese. Everything else is still in English.

I have made NO changes to the setup; have spent 2 days searching and trying everything I could, nothing.

Configuration: MiniX Neo X8-H plus; ES File Explorer and X-Plore (switching between the two of them makes no difference to the problem)

HTML to A Samsung 9000 Series TV.

Anyone have ideas?

A long-press on the Language button opens up the input method dialog. Was then able to re-select the remote's keyboard as the input method (it had been grey'd out for some reason).

Works perfectly now. Thanks to anyone to read this and thought about it.
