Is there a benefit in using these releases since new kodi 18 has now released stable leila which haves refresh rate switching and white list
Pasthrough works as it should
Just opinions and why

It's a personnal choice. If you just need Kodi then LE or CoreElec may be a good choice.
If you need to play with more applications, stay with Android and Kodi 18.

Less playback issues with LibreElec/CoreElec than the android version. Movies that flat out would not play in android play just fine using CoreElec.

I tried LibreElec, but still had a few issues (but much less than android). CoreElec is more Amlogic centered and I have fewer issues with it.

Slightly Off topic, but where can i get a download file and instructions on how to load/use that? Also, is it a pretty simple process?

And what it means movies flat out

Im using xbmc from 2005 on different devices and i never found a video file that wont play
Im not an expert just using stuff from media center that i need for entertaiment
And to be onest i found libreelec more unstable and buggy than android version
Since i have nice audio setup and good screen i just wondered is there some gain on those fields
