Hi all,

Your help is much appreciated.

When seeking/Fast forward/rewind video both in addons and local files in kodi, screen locks up & these weird patchy colors all over screen then it reoots but not fully as I have to pull the plug to fully reboot.

Thanks.

Hi.
Please give us more details:
-Do you have many apps installed?
-Are you using untrusted add-ons for kodi?

Over time kodi application (and other applications) takes up more and more space especially if you have to use some kodi addons (streaming movies for example).
Check the apps you have installed and unistall those you don´t need.
Kodi (19.4 latest version) works fine with local streaming (from a NAS for example).

If your local files are fine and all the box configuration is fine then you should´t have any issues (Streaming from USB, Ethernet, WIFi)

Latest stable version of U22-XJ FW here: (update if you need)

Stable kodi version:

Note:
You can also do this: (warning, this will wipe out your data/configurations)

Hi,

Did all that i.e start afresh with limited apps installed and addons in kodi but problem still persist. Even in coreelec.

I am on latest firmware & kodi as well.

The old thread below "kodi shutting box down.." is exactly my experience so I went through the suggestions on that thread.

That is not a normal behaviour (and you tested with coreElec).

One note:
Please test other apps (with android OS) and see if you have the same problem.

Hi all this is what I mean when I ff/RW in kodi, it just freeze with this image and I then have to unplug & restart the box.

This happens constantly with local vide files and add-on files, is it a case of ram mgmt or what?

Hi please test:

TV test:
-another TV/monitor
-another hdmi cable (use original hdmi cable)
-disconnect/remove what you don't need (on u22-xj)
-check your current tv configurations and update the TV firmware (only if you need).

Kodi test:
-if you have another PC or media hub please test the same files
-test other files
-use internal storage files (saved on U22-XJ)
-Don't use for now kodi addons for video streaming

I'd first suggest that "limited apps installed and add-ons in Kodi" is not the same as the original suggestion that you start over with a completely clean Kodi and/or system & then see if the same issues are present after that, if any!! (Or, you can of course skip straight to Rui's suggestion that you start messing around swapping out cables or spare displays if you'd prefer ;)???)

That's not the standard or basic Kodi (or CoreELEC) UI for seeking in your screenshot, so ultimately the question needs to be asked again....

.....Are you currently using any high intensity add-ons, builds, or questionable add-ons with Kodi? Would you like to have another try at naming the add-on or build you're using that's throwing up the scrambled displays in your screenshot? (That's telling a slightly different story to your earlier assertions that you're troubleshooting with a clean system or a clean Kodi install!!!!!). Regardless of whether you're using official or unofficial add-ons, personally I don't care, but now you're asking other forum members to potentially spend their time troubleshooting a problem you're possibly introducing yourself by not following earlier advice.

If you're not truly troubleshooting with a 100% fresh/clean base Kodi install & state you are but persist with any builds/add-ons etc., then what exactly do you expect anyone here to be able to do about anything if there's not even a factual baseline to work with?

Or do you simply want us to repeatedly bounce your head off your desk for you now when all future suggestions also fail as well if you won't do that yourself either:)? (Nobody here has a hope of helping you with this if you won't first help yourself, or help them to help you.)

Return to step one. Install a 100% clean Kodi with no add-ons whatsoever for a start & then see what happens when you attempt to use skip steps or FF/RW? Preferably, also try the 100% fresh clean system install you also asserted you previously tried as well with NO additional apps at all, (not a selection of omitted "limited apps" that you deem fit, yet still these issues magically persist)!!

I'll apologise now if you feel this viewpoint a little on the harsh side but you're asking others for help while providing evidence that contradicts your earlier claims.

"Why always you"? Hmmmm, I wonder ;)!!!!
