Maxima 2017 CarPlay issue

I'm almost ready to give up, but thought I'd try this forum.
I've got a CP86 that I'm trying to get connected to my Maxima and iPhone 17 Pro Max (latest iOS).
The consistent sequence is: I start the car, the car display indicates that it's starting CarPlay, my phone connects to the bluetooth side of the CP86, then seconds later the car display indicates that CarPlay failed to start. Every single time.

I've done the paperclip reset, I've connected the device to power only and connected to the bluetooth stably that way, and it never works.
Is there an updated firmware for this? Different troubleshooting steps?

IPhone connects to the wireless CarPlay, enter 192.168.1.101 on iPhone's browser, adjust the delayed start value.

You must have a different device than I have, I don't have half the options you do and the versioning on yours is very different.
