Are you using Youtube Vanced? I also have the exact same problem! I have been using Youtube Vanced for a long time without any problems. Since the last update of the app I have encountered all the problems you described. I think it's a problem with the Vanced app with the latest version and not with the Minix firmware (at least I hope so). Let's see if they solve the problems with the next Vanced updates. The YouTube 4k are unwatchable colored blocks and the system restarts if I leave it on the video. Some videos that were shot on a phone vertical turn small hard to watch.
baciok, I am using the YouTube app only. Are you using Youtube Vanced? I also have the exact same problem! I have been using Youtube Vanced for a long time without any problems. I have tested the MCU3, I found it wasn't the MCU version issue.Have you updated the Youtube version to latest? Is there a way to go back to mcu3?
Some 1080 videos that were shot vertical turn small hard to watch. I have to change them to 360 resolution to get full size. I can't watch 1440 or 2160 they are colored bars on both my u22.All YouTube videos are affected?
Not the 1080 down. but I can't watch 1440 or 2160 they are colored bars on both my u22.
I will try SmarTube thanks. There were always some issues with the Youtube app, or most apps actually to play 1440 or 2160, most can go up to 1080 and that's it. You can watch Youtube videos in those resolutions either by playing them in the web browser's desktop mode of Youtube.com site, or by installing this one great piece of software:

The stable release should do the trick.
Until a few weeks ago (max 2 weeks) all videos worked perfectly even 4k. Resolutions higher than 1080p are now shown with green lines and squares and the box restarts. While 1080p videos look squeezed as if they were 4: 3 (warped image and black bands on the right and left). I don't understand why these problems started (both with the official Youtube app and with Youtube Vanced which worked beautifully)There were always some issues with the Youtube app, or most apps actually to play 1440 or 2160, most can go up to 1080 and that's it. I set everything up as you suggested. I also updated Youtube to the latest version an hour ago. Everything was fine but as soon as I selected the 4k resolution the problems started again. Green squares and restarted box. Never had any problems in the past few weeks with 4k resolution. Not even warped video issues (squeezed left and right). the only change on my U22 was the update to the V8 firmware, the update of the Youtube app and the update of Youtube Vanced. I do not know what to think...Well, try the following: In the Youtube app go the the Settings, bellow the "Advanced" you have a "Settings > Video Quality Settings", click there and select one of each or both of the selections for Higher Picture Quality and try it from there.
