MINIX NEO N42C-4 Freezing

Hi. I have been using my NEO N42C-4 with Wondows 10 Pro x64 (booting from the MINIX brand 128GB M.2 SSD) for a month or so without any complaints but recently it started freezing and, occasionally, freezing and restarting. Is this a common issue and is there a known cause or solution to it?

I run an N42C-4 with a Kingston 240GB M.2 SSD & I have no issues at all, it runs like a dream. It's just updated to 1809 as well within the past week.

Which version of Win 10 Pro are you running? Has it recently updated?

Have you checked the Device Manager, & the Event Viewer (under the administrative tools) for any issues?

Hello ArcticWolf. Thanks for your quick reply and apologies for my late one. I think the nature of the issue is quite different because now, it won't even power up. It looks like a power supply issue as opposed to a software issue.

Sorry to hear you're still having issues.

That being the case, please PM either @MINIX - John or @Minix - Martin, or email them directly at support@minix.com.hk outlining the problems you're having.

Attach a copy of your electronic receipt as well if possible, it'll help speed things up for you if you do need a replacement PSU.

Hopefully you'll be back up & running soon.
 
Done. I've also taken it back to the retailer from where I bought it. I've sent the coppies of the purchase receipt and the maintenance slip they've given me. We'll see what happens.

Don't worry, MINIX are very quick to respond to problems like this. You'll be back up & running soon :).
 
Was there an answer to this? I'm having the same problem. Not yet in a state of not powering up.
 
Have you guys installed any software that might cause the freezing issue?
Have you ever run the "Task Manager" to check how much resources of CPU and Memory remains before the device goes freezing?
And you may try to open the NEO N42C-4 by removing the screws to double check if the SSD or RAM are properly installed.
And try to insert the RAM into the other RAM slot.
