Minix Neo U1 Blue light, trying to flash factory image

@Marty is there something that could be tried with TWRP?
Doubt it, if it fails with both USB Burning Tool and Burncard then I suspect a hardware failure. Lets wait for feedback from the OP and then if all else has failed I will upload a TWRP backup.
 
Only if you are running a Windows 10 virtual machine!

Have you tried the latest version of the Burning Tool yet?

Same results With Burning Tool V2.2 also tried V3.1(When you load the image it reverts to Burning Image V2.1.8) and V2.1.8

Been researching uboot issues on the web. Looking into swapping out the onboard rtc battery cr2032.

I don´t know if it works but you should try first reflash firmware as i wrote before:
-with another PC (another OS, another clean PC)
-disable antivirus/firewall to flash and disable internet
-another usb burning tool version
-another cable (PC-minix)
etc...

I've tried most of the variables you proposed, I will try shutting down the internet and disable antivirus, thanks!

PS: I have tried various USB and image burning tools/versions on Two PC's one with WinXP and the other with Win7 operating system.

Also For now I could perform a simple voltage check on the onboard (3v) battery.

Do this for now:
Disconnect the minix for a time (20 minutes for example) and remove all cables.
When you try and reflash again use only hdmi cable, usb cable (PC To minix), power cable and nothing more connected to minix.
 
I opened it up, the onboard battery measured 3.2 volts no load. So that seems OK. The RAM chips (Sk Hynix H5TQ4G63CFR RDC) look to be replaceable, hmm?

Another message board on the 7% uboot error talks about repacking image try again or using a UART adapter to flash the individual partitions. I have no knowledge of this process.

Have you tried freshly downloading the FW image itself in case the copy you've had all this time is somehow corrupted itself?

Have you also tried flashing an earlier FW version for the U1? (You can always use the OTA update to bring the system back to FW013 if successful. For example, I had a U9-H that failed to flash FW008 repeatedly with no explanation why at all but FW007 immediately flashed successfully.)

Both worth trying as you've pretty much covered all other options.

Yes.
The more firmware versions you have the better.

Tip:
If not sucess with two or three atempts it is better leave the device rest for a while and do the same procedure for example the next day.

Good advice! Question is there a preferred depository for the various legacy Firmware Versions?
