Minix Neo U9-H || Not working || No HDMI signal on TV

After 2 years of being working fine, Minix Neo U9-H stopped working. TV is not detecting any HDMI signal.
I can only see blue LED glowing on MINIX box, also red light coming out from SPDIF port.
Please support if anyone has resolution for the same.

Actions taken so far:

1. Checked HDMI Cable --> Absolutely working, checked on other device

2. External speakers connected to the Minix Box to check clicking sound --> No clicking sound observed

3. Tried to update firmware FW008 using USB_Burning_Tool --> After successful connection and device detection, started burning and got stuck at 7% (Formatting) with error as [HUB1-2][Err]--[0x00101004]Erase bootloader/Lowper/Identify/Error result). Not able to proceed further.

Error logs :
[14:07:07 401][HUB1-2][Err]--IOCTL_IDENTIFY_HOST_Handler ret=-116 error_msg=libusb0-dll:err [control_msg] sending control message failed, win error: The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.

[14:07:07 407][HUB1-2][Inf]--Close device handle 0x00000bb4

Please support or Let me know if any resolution available for this.

I have a Minix NEO x8-h with EXACT same problem. Was working fine. Now no HDMI output, tried different HDMI cables, different HDMI ports, different TVs, NOTHING.

Same as you, blue light is on, red light at back. I can connect using USB Burner, but firmware bombs out around the 1 - 3% mark with various errors. Nothing appearing on the screen. Used to work fine. Tried all the various hard reboots, nothing.

Have you tried a different available version of the USB burning tool in the first instance?

Have you tried a complete uninstall & clean install of the USB burning tool as well? (Reboot your PC after the uninstall & then try the reinstall.)

Have you also tried using a different micro USB data cable if you're not using the cable supplied by MINIX?

Try placing the actual FW image that you're attempting to flash actually on the Win C drive too. (I've experienced issues attempting to flash in the past if I've loaded the FW image in the USB burning tool from a network source or external drive etc.)

If you have a micro SD card present in the device, also try removing that first before attempting to flash. (While it shouldn't affect the flashing process at all, I can recall some users having problems flashing who removed the micro SD card & the device then flashed normally.) By the same logic, if you still have a USB dongle or drive connected while flashing, remove them too just in case something may be interfering.

Did you also try connecting your U9-H to a different display before you attempted flashing too? The original issue you reported can sometimes happen where the device is essentially running but something essentially affects the display output. (Although, I'm guessing you've already read through other threads that previously discussed this issue which lead you to eventually attempt a re-flash (??).)

You may need to employ a little trial & error as some users can use the most recent version of the burning tool on a relatively recent Windows machine, while others may need to use an older version of the USB burning tool, or conversely some may even need to use a newer version of the tool on an older Windows machine. (Unfortunately it can vary & it can be dependant upon individual Win machines.) You may even need to try another Win machine altogether (if you have access to one). Again, unfortunately some Win machines or particular software installed upon them can also affect a successful flash.

Apologies for the battery of annoying questions, however, obviously we have no way of knowing what you have or haven't tried so far to troubleshoot the problem.

Otherwise, there is also the possibility that the internal memory could have failed :(. (I've never had an embedded MMC fail in one of these devices personally but it can & will ultimately happen especially if the internal memory is subject to intensive write activity, they're not infinite.) However, try working through a few alternative options first & see if the device will then flash normally if you change things up :).

Let us know how you get on, if you need additional assistance, or if you have any further questions :).

db1987 Are you having any luck??

I'm having similar issues, and have tried various cables, displays, burning software versions, PC/Laptop operating systems etc. At this point I'm thinking possible bad hardware, memory too.

ArticWolf, Has anyone replaced memory chips?.

See my thread under Neo U1 forum "MINIX Neo U1 Blue light, trying to flash factory image".

I'm having the same issue, no video output and upon boot up I get the blue/red light combo for about 15 seconds then it goes to off with solid red again. Thanks for the list of things to try above, looks like I have a number of things to run through!
