Minix Neo U9-H without TV/Monitor just via smartphone?

Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a Minix Neo U9-H and using it (until end of year when I saved enough money to buy a laser beamer) only to play audio and send it via TOSLINK to my Hifi-System.
I don't think my use case is extremely rare so chances are a solution exists:
Is it possible to use the Minix without a display and use a smartphone instead? Maybe with a browser (IP address of Minix device) or are there an app for this scenario available?
Thanks!

You need to connect the NEO U9-H to a TV or PC monitor via HDMI.
Otherwise, you'll be blindly trying to navigate and setup the audio, which would be highly impressive, though most likely impossible.
You cannot use a smartphone as the display for NEO U9-H.

But only for the first installation. If everything is running as it should afterwards, you don't need it anymore. Remember to disable CEC.

Right, not as a regular display, but you can use your smartphone as a remote for Kodi and stream your content elsewhere (even to your phone).
Example: I am using the U9-H to stream my music to a Wifi-loudspeaker. To control Kodi I recommend the app "Yatse", for the simple streaming to another device you can use for example "BubbleUPnP" (Yatse does the job too)
