Minix T5 Optical output problem

Hi,
I`m having an issue with the optical output of my minix T5. It`s been working OK for a year but some days ago it started not sending signal through the optical output. I`ve checked the fiber and the Home theater but the problem seems to be the minix itself.
It doesnt seem to be a hardware issue because after some time playing a video, the problem disapears and starts sending signal as spected (and the red led is always on).
Another important comment is that although I use KODI, the sound problem is also present in the android UI, youtube app, etc.
Any ideas? is this some kind of firmware bug?

Hey and welcome :).

Have you checked the T5 device audio settings that it's still set to optical/SPDIF?

Also, double check the Android system volume sliders themselves to ensure they haven't been inadvertently set to zero. (This is actually a very common cause of no audio output where users have ended up creating a forum account to ask for help ;).)

Let's hope it is something simple so you can get your system back with the minimum of fuss :).
