Minix U1 display going black, losing sync

I have 3 Minix U1 devices and love them but recently I have an issue where while watching the Minix all of a sudden, the TV goes blank.. I notice that in the "Info Screen On the Top of the screen" the box that shows the resolution (1080p) all of a sudden that goes blank. the Tv comes up and says No Signal... and this has just started happening over the last few weeks.... Nothing has changed but I did upgrade the Video Player Application.

I have a Vizio 4ktv but I have set the resolution of the Minix to 1080p fixed to see if that was causing a problem.. I use to have it set to 4K 30 but it does not seem to matter what resolution's I have it set to...

Anyone running in to this situation?

Does this problem only occur when using the Video Player Application?
Does this problem occur on all 3 of your NEO U1 units?
Have you tried connecting the NEO U1 to a different TV/monitor? Does the problem persist?
Please confirm you're running 013FW on the NEO U1 units.
 
Good Morning John. Since I've only been using it as a player of either videos off our NAS drives or streams which all use MXPlayer I guess everything I watch from time to time does this. It just goes blank, no audio and the TV says no source... so I am guessing it is not seeing an output from the U1.

This is the only one out of the 3 units that is doing that same thing.

I was using this unit with my Sony 1080p tv for years about 3 months ago I changed it to a Vizio 4k tv. At first I had the selected the 4k 30hz (that is what my HDMI on this TV is for this HDMI locaton... for this tv but I thought perhaps it was an issue with the sources I was playing which were 1080p but that still caused the issue.. this morning I switched to Auto switch to see if that does anything.. I do have a variety of videos so I'll try the auto switch to defalult and see if that does anyting. But to answer your question, Yes, I did have it connected to another TV and it was so long ago I don't recall having the issue... it is just in the last month or so. Yea, I can put it back on the other TV if I need to

I can switch the box with one of the other and see if it continues.. I am also going to change the HDMI port on the TV and see if it changes at all.... but any suggestions you might have I"d appreciate it.

If it's just happening with the one device obviously that would suggest this isn't a universal issue & in all likelihood it's a problem with the one device alone.

After you've tried your planned troubleshooting & if you're still experiencing a problem....

Try clearing the system cache. (Shut the device down, then press & hold the power button for 6+ seconds to access the recovery menu. Use your remote to navigate to the option to clear the cache & you'll quickly receive a confirmation that this has completed. Once done, select reboot & see if that helps.)

Try either clearing the cache & data for the MXPlayer app, or uninstall it & reinstall it fresh.

Any change at this point or still the same?

If you're still stuck at that point a factory reset may be your next best option to resolve this. (You can find the option to reset the device in the U1's backup & restore settings.)

Let us know if you have any additional questions or need any further information, or if you manage to clear tbe problem without needing to factory reset :). (Finger's crossed.)
 
Thanks for the reply I will report back once I try some of these suggestions... Hopefully once the U22 gets up and running with fewer bugs I'll change out my U1 for a U22... Until then I'll just have to deal with what I have.
 
So now it's been almost another week and after moving my U1 from HDMI 4 to HDMI 2, changing the Resolution on the Minix to auto it seems like the video has squared away and hopefully it won't come up again... Thanks for the hope...

Experiencing similar issues. We operate over 300 Minix Z834 and Plus and have begun seeing the miniDP port drop sync/output, however the desktop continues to show fine. Where do you adjust the resolution to Auto, under Settings>Apps>Video Playback? Why would this all of a sudden cause our stationary units playing chrome presentations stop working. Thanks in advance.
