hi I have recently got a u9h after having a u1 for four years, the issues I am having is that when I'm running stb emu it will not load or play streams using vlc media player, my u1 box upstairs plays and uses vlc without any issues. I am using the latest available update on the u9 and have uninstalled stb emu and wiped the u9 to no avail!!!

help please

Hi and welcome to this forum.
You said you have the latest firmware available?
Just to know more, you are on beta CE latest nougat ROM :

or stable marshmallow ?

I don't use vlc media player, maybe someone that uses can help you further.
I use kodi and for me it is great.
You can try with kodi (latest kodi 18.5 is available) if you don't already tried before.

I don´t understand your replay much but i think you don´t have latest CE, only via box update (marshmallow).
In order to have CE latest ROM you need manually flash.

What VLC do, kodi can do more and better.
You must think if you want to continue using VLC.

Kodi (former XBMC, 2008 ) is by far in my opinion the more complete, best media player and now we have the possibility of multiplataform which is great :)

I am from beginning of XBMC :)

Your correct I’ve not flashed it or nothing just the online update via the box itself! I’ve used Kodi in the past and I’m using stb emu to stream a video on demand service so not live streaming!
I just don’t understand why I’m having these problems with the U9h but never with the u1! I’m just frustrated and I’m not sure is it really worth flashing it to the firmware your referring to are there going to be many benefits and lastly is it a fairly easy process!? I don’t want to brick it! Thanks ?

You can try update VLC player (for U9-H) to latest version and test the result.
Check VLC (U1 and U9-H) versions.

Ok I will check that but I’ve downloaded the most up to date vlc from online. I will also check my firmware also and maybe use this forum to update

@notrui Kodi in pc world is popular but it isn't most popular like in Android Tv Boxes. He can wait for CE Nougat stable not very long. You are right for everything you said about Kodi but he likes VLC.

@mark lob yes it is not so popular with android tv boxes.
I tested already on T5 (android tv) kodi 18.4 , kodi 18.5 and it works very well.

He can test if he likes this most recent version of kodi.
He said he used kodi in the past, he have an idea , already know how it works.
XBMC releases in many parts it is similar to kodi, GUI changed and many other things, but the concept is the same ☺

roubl is mate my provider doesn’t support kodi, I used it right from the start years ago but it’s not really an option now! But thanks for the help and input ?

Yes it's all good. You have Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and latest firmware FW008.Wait for CE Android 7 (Nougat) stable until the end of the year.C'mon MX Player,VLC...it's all the same but no one offers smooth 24p playback on Neo U9-H like Kodi.
