Minix U9-H Kodi 18.6 Passthrough Audio stutter

I wonder if you can help me out.
I struggle with passthrough audio stutter from DD AC3 files. No issues with the picture.
No issues with Atmos or DTS. I looked at older topics but could not find a good solution.

Settings are as provided by ArcticWolf
U9-H's settings --> Sound settings --> Set the following...

DRC Mode --> Line
DTS Drcscale --> SOUND0,
(0%, alter if DTS very quiet).
Digital Sounds --> Auto detection, (should auto set to HDMI passthrough. If it's set to PCM, try manually setting Auto detect or manually set HDMI). Everything should work by HDMI alone & you shouldn't need to connect via additional TOSLINK/Digital coax cables.
Sound Devices --> Input devices - Auto, & Output devices - HDMI.

If you're also using Kodi, depending on your previous hardware & set up you may need to make some adjustments there too.

Enter Kodi's Settings --> Sytem Settings --> Audio. Most importantly, scroll down to the Audio Passthrough settings.

Allow passthrough - Enable. (Then go down the available list, all being well enable the following)....

Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver
Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3) capable receiver
DTS capable receiver
TrueHD capable receiver
DTS-HD capable receiver

Otherwise, you may also want to adjust these settings too & you can leave the rest at their defaults...

Number of channels - Set to total number of speakers, (i.e. if 5.1.2 then set 7.1).
Maintain original volume on downmix - Disabled
Stereo upmix - Disabled
Output Config - Best match
Keep audio device alive - 2 mins
Send low volume noise - Enable

Finally, under Kodi's player settings, ensure that the "sync playback to display" option is definitely disabled.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Details, details, details ;)!!!!

Which firmware version are you using?

Otherwise, just some examples....

Have you checked the usual suspects such as HDMI cables etc.?

Do the same files have the same issues if you use another app like MX Player

Have you tried clearing Kodi's cache or the U9-H's system cache?

Have you tried clearing Kodi's data or completely uninstall & reinstall Kodi again?

Have you double checked the relevant settings on your external audio equipment?

What other steps have you tried to correct the problem?

There are many variables involved & it's incredibly hard for others to put you on the right track with so little information!

Thank you for your answer.
I run version 6.0.1 FW008.
Kodi 18.7
I have cleared catch as you recommend I will test effects later.
I think hardware and HDMI is okay cause I am not seeing issues with non DD files like DTS.

Today during 60min movie there was like 4 instances where audio would just disappear for 0,5s as if it's not transmitted to AV receiver (the speakers icon disappear from AV for period of time).
I checked same file in VLC player and issue was way worse.
I will try factory reset next I think.

If you're certain everything else is as it should be then hes, a factory reset wouldn't be bad idea to try next.

Finger's crossed & let us know how it turns out. (BTW, Kodi 18.7 has been available a while too so update that once you've completed the reset before you do anything else ;).)

@KiteTrol

audio dropouts are incredibly difficult to pinpoint the reason and then to resolve.

Do as @ArcticWolf has suggested, and you could also try changing Output Configuration to the other options to see if this makes it any better.

If you do a factory reset remember all your apps and settings will be deleted, and if you go this route then just install Kodi and set up prior to adding any additional apps . Caution if using a kodi backup as this will probably just copy the problem across.

I have Kodi 18.7 updated from app store. Should I be getting different version?
