After a couple of years of running CoreElec via micro SD card because my Minix never really functioned properly, I thought I'd remove the SD card and try the latest version of Minix. However when I pressed the power button for more than six seconds, nothing happened beyond the green robot boot screen. In fact, it didn't 't matter if I held the button in for 6 seonds, one second or two minutes, I could not get beyond the initial screen, so instead I tried to flash two different firmwares using the USB Burning tool and the box connected to my PC.
The first, official one (CE-191120-FW001-1574239461 and U9-H-FW008-Android_6.0-20180209-Burning_Tool), allowed me to get past the boot screen, the Minix logo and then the screen went blank. I rebooted, this time holding down the power button until I got to the recovery menu where I was able to delete the cache. I then rebooted, it loaded up as far as the Minix home screen and then again, the screen went blank. I booted again, this time I managed to get the home screen up but as soon as I hit the Play Store logo, the screen went blank again.
I then tried to flash U9H-CE-191120-FW001-1574239461, but it fails to flash beyond 8% saying there is a partition error. [0x30402004]UBOOT/Partition_aml_dtb/Initialize partition/Error result. Thinking this might have been a bad download I downloaded it again but I'm still getting the same error.
If anyone has any bright ideas as to how to successfully flash a functioning OS on my Minix I would be grateful. TIA
