Hello,

So my neighbor has been streaming movies from my NAS using his U9-H connected over VPN.
Using kodi 17.6 this was never a problem, Using the NFS protocol the movies played fine, even 4k movies yay!

But when kodi was updated to 18.1 the movies doesnt work anymore, the actual mkv file is not showing anymore. Doesnt work over library or directly from the source.
I tried bringing the unit back down to my place and play the file locally, doesnt show up..
So I downgrade to 17.6 using an old APK. Tada movies shows and works again, even streams over vpn.

So what has changed? Anyone noticed something similar?

Did you try resetting NFS permissions or check the permitted IP's for NFS with a VPN? (Unlikely but the update may have messed with something.)

I'm currently using SMB from my NAS's with Kodi 18, works fine.

I have checked the permissions on the NAS and nothing changed as far as I can see, it works well with SMB and NFS with 17.6
As soon as it updates, it doesnt work anymore.
Will check for support on kodi forum, thanks for the help

No problem. Sorry to hear it's still giving you trouble :(!!

Have you also tried clearing any old caches?

You've probably already thought of the rest but just in case ;).....

Have you created any firewall rules on your NAS specific to an IP or a range of IP's for the VPN, or your LAN that you're possibly forgetting?

When you say SMB isn't working with Kodi 18; Is this because you're unable to use Zeroconfig, or you're unable to see or select your Workgroup etc.? (With Kodi 18 on another Android device I had to manually configure the SMB shares.)

I was using NFS originally with my NAS's as well but I just happened to be using SMB when the update occurred. Everything transferred over smoothly.

Any joy from the Kodi forums?

Hope you're making some progress :)!!
