Multichannel AAC Audio on the U22 running CoreELEC

Hi,

Can anyone confirm whether AAC multichannel audio will work correctly using CoreELEC on the U22

I have followed this guide >> https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/how-to-install-coreelec-on-the-u22-xj.2771/

and all works well except for playback of multichannel AAC

I have my U22 connected via HDMI to a DD Atmos/HD audio capable AVR ( Sony STR-DH790)
In Kodi settings have selected pasthrough using the HDMI device option.

All other audio seems to work fine, ie AC3, DD Atmos, True HD , DTS-X etc
Only multichannel AAC fails, symptons are slurred, slow speed sounding audio with droputs.
