Hello all.

I was following the instructions here: https://hwswbits.blogspot.com/2015/03/getting-linux-on-minix-neo-z64.html
to try to install Ubuntu. Everything seemed to have gone well, until I rebooted and the only thing to come up was the EFI shell. I cannot get anything else to boot now, which is a problem for me, and I don't know the EFI shell well enough to fix the issue. I've tried following the instructions to install Windows 10, but the thumb drive will not boot. Anyone got an image of the original drive that can be used to bring the system back to the default state?

Thanks!

Carl

Have you tried accessing the BIOS to double check the boot order is correct?

Ideally, ensure the eMMC or your thumb drive have boot priority over the EFI for normal operation.

If it's already correct, did you ensure you renamed the USB stick to WINPE to reinstall the official (default) MINIX Win 10 image?

You can make your Windows with rufus to go on stick and then install the grub2Win in stick. Don't know, actually it is possible that the dru2Win could also start a win11 64bit on the USB z64? Have to try it. you can create partitions on the gpt stick and boot linux systems with grub2Win. The stick, I have a nano 3.2 64 GB. 5 different OS on it. Is specially described by me about grub2win in the forum.

Please check if the BIOS version of your NEO Z64-W is the JCRDW prefix. if so, try install Windows 10 OS image for NEO Z64-W10.

You must need create an UEFI bootable USB stick and renamed to WINPE.

If the BIOS is JCRDA, the Windows system cannot be installed.

I'm almost going crazy with the z64w with the Win PE.
Everything creates everything according to the instructions, always stuck im wpeinit and then X: \ Windows \ System32 \?
I mean, the PE is a good thing and space-saving. But now I have installed Windows To Go on the stick with Grub2Win from the stick in the Efi Start menu.

Don't know, I think PE is already obsolete, Alex, or if I can start a full-fledged Windows system in parallel from USB and its own bootloader. With Grub2Win you get everything started on the stick as well, MUltiboot, there you can start the PE funny white, don't know where the error is.
I thank you for your help.
