NEO J50C-4 - Fan Speed Issue

Hi everyone, i'm a new J50C-4 owner. This Minix is a really nice mini-pc. I noticed a little issue with the fan. I set fan speed in the bios stuck at 2300 rpm and the computer is really silent with good temperatures. The problem is that when i put the pc in standby, when i wake up it, the fan start spinning at max speed until i reboot the system. It's a bios issue?

Sorry for my english, i speak it only a little

Edit: I tried to restore default settings in the bios, but it doesn't solves the problem

Have you noticed this problem too?

It's a known issue with the J50C-4 when it wakes from sleep.

MINIX are currently working on a BIOS update but please don't ask for expected release dates.

Obviously, it's up to you, but once the BIOS has been updated you'll be better off using the smart/silent fan option that will automatically adjust fan speeds based on CPU load. (Your CPU will potentially last longer than a fixed fan speed which may undercool at times of very high load.)

Yes. As said before @Villa and @ArcticWolf it is a known issue.

Leave the device in auto. - fan speed.
The device will work better and you avoid crashes (with high temperature).
Let's wait for bios update.

It does not matter if you update windows, the problem is the same, only for now a reboot to fix the issue.

Thank you for the answer. I made some tests and, with the fan stuck at 2300 rpm, cpu reach max 79-80 degrees under prime95 stress test that is an extreme scenario, with normal cpu load, i have 40-50 degrees on the cpu... But i will set fan on auto as you said

Thanks for the info, I have the same problem.

Hi!
Was the issue with fan speed after waking up from sleep ever fixed by the BIOS update 0.15 that came out in December 2019?
The reason why I ask is that it's still happening to me, even after the BIOS update. Do I need to modify any setting to enable it?
Thank you!

No there will be no fix, the fan is going to spin up when the device wakes from sleep but once into the OS for a couple of seconds it will slow down.
