Also, be certain of the different J50C-4 variants as you've specifically mentioned the "base model". (This is also covered under the linked thread above including the SSD upgrades a base or standard model may require before proceeding.)

J50C-4 (Base model) - 32 GB eMMC & 4 GB RAM.

J50C-4 (Standard) - 64 GB eMMC & 4 GB RAM.

J50C-4 Plus - No eMMC, (240 GB SSD pre-installed) & 4 GB RAM.

J50C-4 Max - No eMMC, (240 GB SSD pre-installed) & 8 GB RAM.

That should put you on the right track :).
 
Edit: Never mind, I found it by entering the BIOS.
That being said, I do have Project Version 0.10.
Does that mean I should flash the BIOS v0.17 instead?

Hello, this is the first time I've updated a BIOS.
* The instructions direct "please go to BIOS to check the 'Project Version'." Just to be on the safe side, can you confirm this is the same as "BIOS Version" in "System Information" (e.g. this page is v0.24)?

* Also, for those having difficulty downloading from the link, a simple click did not work for me, but right-click and "save link as" did.

Thanks for the advice! I have the Standard Model with upgraded RAM and the 240GB SSD. I just upgraded the BIOS and everything is working fine. The first restart was a bit exciting because of one additional restart and a loud spinning fan. But now everything is working normal.

I had to start "update.bat" via console, just double clicking and starting with admin rights didn't work.
 
In the instructions it says "Right-click 'update.bat' file, and select 'run as administrator'. " where? I must be in the windows in order to do that?
