Neo U1 as home server

I am currently adding some smart home stuff around the house and would also need a Home assistant server.
At the moment I am using my synology NAS for this but this is not supporting the Home Assistant OS.

SInce I have an old Minix Neo U1 laying around I was thinking of using this as a server.
But is it possible to flash Ubuntu or anything else on this box besides Android?
I see Libreelec can be added but the support from Home Assistant to Libreelec is not that good.
