@luc23

Try change hdmi cable, tv settings, etc as @Marty suggested.

If the problem remains you can try also a minix factory reset, upgrade the TV firmware, etc....

Another test you can do is try with another TV.

And where's the positive, helpful manner? Aren't we supposed to be here to help each other? Have you read what I've wrote or you just was only looking for something to pick a quarrel?
I take offense to that comment about being helpful.
Of course I read your post which is possibly more than you seemed to have done in reading the thread : quote > "Not reported (as I guess it was reported before), "

I am merely repsonding to your incorrect assertion that a workaround is required for DD+

Here are my settings for the U22

u22 audio.pngaudio 1.jpgaudio 2.jpgaudio 3.jpg

This was tested using the dolby digital plus with dolby atmos-trailer_leaf_1080media file which you can download here >> https://ufile.io/1823sy64

I have also taken a video of my AVR display showing that it is correctly receiving DD Plus which you can find here >> https://ufile.io/5natc3qm

As an offer of further help make sure that the kodi setting for sync playback to display is not enabled

Ok I'll try some of that. TV is a new TCL 6 series and HDMI is from the Minix box. Played with all the video related settings I could find in both TV and U22. Force HDMI mode, turn off DV, different refresh rates, etc. Only thing that works is disable hardware acceleration.

If it was something with my hardware besides the U22 than I would be surprised switching to Software decoding solves it. I guess factory reset is first thing I'll try. Maybe something glitched during the update.

I have a problem with HDMI audio out. My version is the latest (20200330) and all the formats (PCM 5.1, AC3 5.1, DTS5.1, TRUEHD and DTSMASTER) are output only as LPCM 2.0.

Any idea? Thanks

Mod edit: For reference see @MaxC's post here - https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/hdmi-audio.2734/post-21098

I did a reboot and now it is working. However all the HD tracks (PCM 5.1, TRUE HD, DTS-MASTER) are not working. Is this a limitation of MINIX or simply a firmware bug. Thanks

Thanks for the test material and the advise.
I have did some tests and found that I was wrong about the format. My test material was not DD Plus as I first wrote, it was Dolby TrueHd (I've used a wrong tool to check the format, and didn't check it in Kodi). And my Q90R soundbar doesn't tell a thing about received sound format - it provides information onscreen only if Dolby Atmos is being received (would be a nice feature in Smart Things app IMHO to see what format is being played).

So with Dolby TrueHD I have the issue I was writing about - with 7.1 in setting "Number of channels" I cannot hear every channel, but if I set it to 2.0 and leave every other settings intact - I can hear every channel correctly.

Ok update folksI have Factory reset my U22, factory reset my TV which is a TCL 617R, and switched out the HDMI cable.

Didn't install or customize anything, just went straight to a video file with the stock video player. Still affected by the green lines. So something is up.

-In addition to 80% of my thousand or so common X264 files, I have had it happen with various popular YouTube videos (played through browser) and Reddit videos too, as I mentioned.
-Have not seen it happen yet with X265 files.
-Occasionally it is not green lines, but messed up colors, almost like a film negative, but green.

So all I can conclude is one of the following:
-My U22 is broken
-My U22 is not compatible with the TCL TV, although my PS4, Firestick, and Windows PC all work flawlessly with it, and it is a highly rated, highly popular television.

So what now? I purchased it from Amazon.ca from the Minix store. Took a month to ship, so can't say I'm thrilled about the whole shipping back and waiting for replacement thing... Will Minix ship a replacement with postage paid return for the original?

This sounds more like a display compatability issue, in Minix Settings/Display can you try setting SDR to HDR off, HDR to SDR off and in Minix Settings/Display/Screen resolution set Color Depth to off, Color Space Settings to RGB and Dolby Vision to disable, try some files and see if it makes a difference.

If confirmed the files play without issue them I'm afraid it is a process of elimination from there to find out which seting is causing the issue. I would recommend leaving SDR to HDR off, HDR to SDR on Auto and Dolby Vision enabled to start with as I highly suspect this has more to do with Color Depth or Color Space but I could be completely wrong.

I dont have any video issues whatsoever with my u22 and these are my settings
HDR to SDR OFF
SDR to HDR OFF
DV DISABLED

I am connected ( via AVR) to LG OLED HDR10 / DV capable

Neither do I on my Samsung 65Q70R connected straight to TV via HDMI, I have HDR to SDR on auto, SDR to HDR off and DV enabled but not all TV's are born equal unfortunately and he has a TCL 617R so lets see if my advice helps, if not then it's a dodgy unit and a warranty return is all that is left.

I would suggest that as his TV is HDR and DV compatible i see no reason to turn on any SDR,HDR and DV options. Let the TV handle the native viideo signal without any interference from the minix

Fair play, valid input for sure (y)
