Another update, plugged the U22 into an older Sony 42" LCD. Still have the lines :(

Also tried using different power adapter from my old Neo U1.

And the tried flipping every possible video related setting one by one in all Minix settings menus and the android Developer options menu.

But nothing worked. Did I get a lemon? What's the best way to get this resolved?
 
Good morning everyone ... Some imperfections found by me: in ethernet I cannot change IP or change dns .... in aptoidetv ... Search button does not work, put app name ... Enter button and nothing remains on that screen .... The same with firefox ..... Some apps HDMI spoofing ... It doesn't work ... The video starts but with an error message ... Tipv on ok and you go back to the main menu ..... .. Security patches stopped on 2018 ..... all this on my U9 works perfectly .... Thanks

Return it to your point of retail for a refund or replacement :).

I need to get Minix to step up. I already gave them a second chance on this after ending software updates and support for the Neo U1 so quick after I bought it.

Now I'll have to ship the U22 back overseas. And it will take a month to ship. Then the replacement will take another month....god.

Second chance??

Not sure when you purchased your U1 as it was released in late 2015 and received 13 firmware updates over 2 years..... that's pretty darn good I would say!;)...... It's still a solid performer !:)
 
I will definitely be patient ... As it has been 13 times with my U1 ..... 8 times with my U9 ... I love too much Minix ..... I just hope we can solve the problem of HDMI Spoofing with next update ... that doesn't work well with the Sky go app ... a hug

Ya I don't know but my U1 developed a video playback problem itself, where videos would play but there was an opaque green mask overlaying 80% of video. And for HTML5 video I would get an error, no playback. That was about 3 years ago so that timeline seems right. I tried flashing the unofficial Android 6 recently to bring it back, but no change, so I got the U22. I assumed the U1 was dead, but hearing that it's still usable for people, maybe I was just unlucky there too.

Anyway, John reached out and is helping me with warranty. So that's great service and I'm happy again. Thanks! Sorry if I sounded frustrated I've been putting together a home theatre and just dealing with a lot of QC issues with various equipment. Looking forward to a working U22 cuz I can tell it's performance and features is extremely good and stable.

Moving on, there are a couple other minor quirks I found with U22:
-The "up arrow" on the included stock mini remote shares an IR code with the TCL 65R617 TV so it is not usable in conjunction with that television. Don't really care if this gets addressed, as I have the fantastic two sided Minix remote anyway.
-Topping USB DAC works but not staying connected, so I must use optical. Again, not a big deal.
-Had to force HDMI 2.0 on this televisions settings for Dolby Vision to engage with the U22, in case there is anyone else who might have that issue.

My U9 has started to do that exact same thing on certain video (wwe network) apps over the last few months. They used to play fine, and now all I’m getting is a black screen, sometimes green, and I can hear the background audio playing normally but no picture. The app is working fine on an android tv and a newer android box. I guess the U9 is too outdated now and that’s what’s causing the issue?

I’m thinking about trying a U22, but waiting for the next fw update with the critical fixes.

good morning .... I did some tests to check spoofing hdmi .... if i leave it on off ... or on on it has the same compoprtamento ..... on off the video starts but it immediately comes out error that detects external screen ...... I put fake hdmi on on .... and it does the same thing ..... as if it doesn't recognize hdmi patch ... as on u9 .... be patient with me
