I believe the issue is relevant (...) The fact the U22 resets can't be solely down to X-plore.

Only one way to figure it out for sure rather than guessing: try with another app, preferably one dedicated to media rather than a general purpose file explorer.

X-plore is loaded on the U22 from factory. Supplied.

But Minix aren't the author of X-plore, so they can't fix it. It's only pre-installed for user's convenience, it doesn't come with any guarantee from Minix. If you have issues with X-plore, you need to raise them with the author. Again, only way to be sure is to try a different app and see if the exact same problem occurs.

True. I understand that. However Minix have chosen to associate with X-plore and add it to shipped U22.
Regardless of any guarantees, X-plore could be triggering a vulnerability with-in minix network firmware, as well X-plore it's self.

When I have time, I'll set up Kodi.

When i use android i have no support for Dts hd and true HD passthrough at kodi.
My avr support it and I have this options on Coreelec.
When I buying the u22-xj I was hoping I only need android but so far I mainly use it for Coreelec because it still have some bugs..

It's a known issue and being worked on between Minix and Amlogic.
