Absolutely!! 7 months after official release, 5 FW Updates and 2 years after announcing and displaying the product at a show and still not functioning as it should.

I am loathed to criticise Minix publicly because their products and support hitherto have been head and shoulders above the rest. But.....this is a sad issue that affects all their customers who bought the U22 and has let minix company down.

Hi,
after update to fw05 each time I turn on the minix I see a message about usb debugging, what is this? Should I tik the box for always?

You must have enabled developer options to get this message, if it is something you have connected via USB that you trust then it is safe to tick the Always allow box.

This was asked numerous times. Minix U1 had perfect KL mappings for the Logitech K400 and other popular airmices. I was kindly told here to go on Logitech forums to express my issues. LOL...

I took the time to sort out the U22 KL files to finally have it working. But it's overwritten with improper values at each FW updates because the U22 team were or not told or don't care. Stupid me, I didn't write down the 3-4 critical keys values that need changes, including 28.

I can understand your frustrations, I haven't had my U22 for very long, but I must admit it is a little annoying when I have to boot up my Minix U1 to do my everyday tasks. I hope they will think about all us keyboard users on the next update...fingers crossed hey!

Connection setup:
- Home theater connected to TV via e-ARC
- MINIX , SetTopBox , and all other devices are connected to the Home Theater to various corresponding ports.

ISSUES:

  1. Screen keeps disconnecting (irregularly and intermittently).
    With that I mean that the tV screen goes black, says no connection and then comes back showing the screen where I was, and showing a brief
    " Dolby Vision" pop up in the top right corner of the screen. (Also sometimes I see the message invalid format)
    It seems as if the system keeps switchin to an fro from Dolby vision.
    I tried to solve by going to: Settings > MINIX settings > Display > Screen resolution and there, turning off "Auto switch to best Dolby vision"
    >> But that does not seem to help. <<

  2. MINIX box seems to mess up my CEC setup.
    When the MINIX is not attached (through HDMI), I can turn on the TV, and the Hometheater set goes on automatically.
    And when I turn off the TV, the home theater set turns off.
    But when I hook up the MINIX (and it is off), the home theater does not switch on anymore when it switch on the TV.
    Only if the MINIX is on does the normal CEC behaviour return. (looks like MINIX then functions as a go through...
    This happens weather or not CEC is enabled on the MINIX.

Same problems here. TV: LG OLED65C7V Home theater: Onkyo TX-NR656. I installed Coreelec on the U22 but it still messes up the CEC. So, the U22 is waiting in his box for better times...

I've found that you have to have all the DV/HDR settings set correctly and CEC turned off in minix settings, and a clean reboot so they stick , prior to installing Coreelec.
I have a U22, Sony AVR and LGC9 and coreelec works as expeted just fine.

And soon one another month pass by... Imagine that you bought a car which you cannot start with a key or a button, rather you have to push it every time... wouldn't be that annoying nowadays? I feel the same now.
 
Hi there is a problem in FW5 where the Samba server stops working after a day or so. At that point you have to restart or turn the samba server off and on again and then it works. It's rather frustrating. People are talking about it in the 'instructions for samba server thread' For some time now but I see no mention In this thread so I'm reporting it.

MINIX are completely dependant upon Amlogic themselves to resolve the Android HD audio passthrough issues. (Please read through previous posts.)

CoreELEC is an alternative you can use with the U22 & HD audio functions normally if you feel that's something you'd like to try.

Sorry but Minix may do their best, for a box of more than 200 euros they can do a little more to get that working and ensure that amlogic will fix that. Or if they are sure that it will not work, they will give compensation to people who have bought a cupboard like that. And sent the same but amlogic
