Hi, just one thing: has someone installed this Rom? because I just did it and it is the non-rooted version of 006A FW.
Thank you.

Cannot connect to PC on win 10 tried several ports followed instruction held reset and power for over 30sec nothing....Help Please

Hey John, Just wondering if this FW provides a switch to toggle back n fortth in the settings, like the previous version that had the switch?! OR, is this fixed "ROOTED ONLY'?

Oh, right, I too thought it was "always rooted, no switch" like Casey.
I'm still on FW005, I didn't upgrade yet as I understand the only way to upgrade to this is with the USB burning tool (obviously FOTA upgrade to the "mainstream, non-root" version), and I just didn't have time to look into it.

Hey #John and #Marty, I just got my New U22 ordered and delivered through Amazon. It has come with the ver. 4.9.113 on there with Root option that I do need. I would really appreciate your input on whether I should just keep it the way it is, and if so, how would I make sure that the unit does NOT AUTO UPDATE the Firmware without my permission?! PS: The unit that I received (even though it was purchased from and delivered to Australia), unfortunately it did not come with the Aussie Power Supply, or the plug adaptor insert. Do you know of a way for me to purchase the darn thing?! It is almost impossible to keep it from falling off the wall-socket if I use a conventional U.S. to Aussie plug-adaptor! Thanks much. Oh, did I mentioned that I am tickled pink for receiving my new toy :-]

4.9.113 is the kernel version!
The firmware version is the Build number. What Build number do you have?

Hey Villa, Thanks for the prompt response. "Built Number is: 20200612-V004"

@MINIX - John
Can you help with this issue?

Unfortunately, I definitely need the root. I'm not sure if I've got it right, but from what I undersood (please correct me); if I decide go with the USB route, then I will no longer be able to utilize the Fota option for all future updates! That is one of the main reasons for my concern! Which brings me back to my question earlier; if I decide (at least for now) to hold off until the next version that has the Root by using the FOTA, then how would I presently prevent it from updating the firmware without my permission. I can always opt otherwise if I run into any issues.

It is my understanding that >

FOTA will only happen with non root switch versions of firmware, and you get to choose whether to update or not.

All root switch versions will need to be manually installed.

Please correct me if I'm wrong! I thought there was a previous Firmwares that came "New out of the box" with the Root Switch!

Going by John's initial post with the announcement of the FW 006A, which is the Rooted version, not the FW006 which is the original "Non-Rooted" version. Have I got it wrong?!
