Hi All,

V006 (20210107) OTA Firmware Update for NEO U22-XJ is now available to download and install.

You can find it by going to the FOTA Update app.

Please post any bugs or issues found on 006FW in this thread.

Changelog
  1. Automatic Refresh Rate Switch (via Kodi, Plex etc.)

    Please note:

    23.976fps will be displayed as 24Hz.
    24.000fps displayed as 24Hz.
    25.000fps & 50.000fps displayed as 50Hz.
    29.970fps & 59.940fps displayed as 60Hz.
    30.000fps & 60.000fps displayed as 60Hz.

    2. Root Switch re-added, fixed the problem that was causing certain streaming apps to detect the root.

    3. SAMBA is fixed, no longer becomes unavailable.

    4. Android Security Patch Level updated.

    5. Fixed the boot-up display issue caused by the Fake HDMI option.

    6. Fixed the resolution problem after reboot, will no longer revert to 1080p.

    7. Fixed the blank-screen display issue caused by entering sleep mode for a long time.

    8. Fixed the 3.5mm audio jack output problem caused by entering sleep mode for a long time.

    9. Notifications will now disappear automatically.

    10. All NEO A3 Backlit can now power on NEO U22-XJ.

    11. Fixed control issue inside MoviePlayer when playing MKV video files.

Important Note (1): The HD audio pass-through issue has not been fixed yet.

Important Note (2): During the OTA firmware update process, your TV may show a static noise screen for approx. 5 seconds.

Do not worry, do not touch anything or turn off the NEO U22-XJ. The firmware update process will be completed shortly.

- Muy importante: HD audio passthrough fix is a must on FW007 :whistle:
- Sound via the USB DAC ES9280C Pro stopped working after upgrade (here)
- It would now seem that all USB audio has been disabled? (here)

- AFR not working in Plex (here)

Remotes:
- Microphone button to activate Google Assistant doesn't work on the Neo A3 Remote (here & here)

Hello everyone, in the end it seems that it was worth the wait. Downloaded and updated by OTA successfully. The NEO A3 Backlit controller now perfectly turns on the U22-XJ Automatic refresh rate change works on kodi. For now things are looking pretty good. That is if the link via hdmi Arc with my lg soundbar keeps failing, but it is not crucial for me.

Para 9 of FW006 states that notifications will now disappear automatically. Just had the message sound on the box, notification appeared for an instant and then vanished.

So, how do I locate that vanishing message? Thank you

Pull up from the bottom of the screen to enable the task bar, then slide down from the top to see the notification bar, if the notification was important then it should be visible there.

Since the update from FW005 to FW006, Fake HDMI doesn’t work on $ky G0. It displays “3nt3nal di$play 0utput is bl0ck3d” but seems to play in the background.

I got some really strange coloured patterns on the top half of the screen when installing the update, it then rebooted itself again and now seems fine.

Installed through FOTA flawlessly.
Activated root, and was able to install AdAway and have it update my host file. (y)

Guys, you need to enable Fake HDMI.

@Greeney10 did you do that?
As far as I remember, it was embedded in the last firmware and was not a switch.

Settings, MINIX Settings, Display, Screen resolution, Fake Hdmi

Thanks Marty. That is what I always did previously. Nope...nothing there now, may have been a glitch.

I will keep an eye out for future notifications.

Just one more for Bugtracker...It is still not possible to drag and drop widgets from nova launcher to home screen. The same still applies to the app drawer. I know the work around for the app drawer. But just thought I would list these two issues.
