Hi,

I have uploaded and installed 007 FW - New Version: 20210923 - V007_20210923-1741 (photo 1 attached)

On reboot, white Minix + green Android on black background image appeared (photo 2), followed by white pulsing Minix image on black background (photo 3), followed by about half a second of my 'phase beam' wallpaper, then screen went black and stayed black. Have rebooted it a number of times, but has defaulted to black screen each time. A3 air mouse pointer works, and long press on A3 red on/off button produces Power off/Sleep/Restart/Screenshot tab which works, but other buttons on A3 don't seem to work. Screen remains black?

(Will transfer this post to official bugtracker when available.)

It worked for me. But I was still on v006, so I updated to v006A and immediately to v007.
Not sure if the fact that I never fiddled with v006A helped.

Just installed with no issues. Had the same images that you had plus a speckled light blue screen, followed by minix pulsating logo.

And then it rebooted on its own.

Thanks for the feedback Pingouin and dak7385, glad V007 worked for you. Just to clarify, mine went to a black screen during the automatic reboot during the update process. Apart from using it as I imagine Minix intended, don't think I fiddled with V006A in any unusual way. The only odd thing that I remember happening when using V006A, is having successfully opened what must have been thousands of image and other links, when I clicked on the 'U22-XJ Max s922B-20210723.img' link (I would advise people against doing this) in a post at https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/firmware.4154/post-35204 , the box crashed in an unusual way and needed a reboot.

Mine did take quite some time to update though, and at some point was stuck on a black screen for several minutes. Not an hour, but maybe 5 minutes with nothing on the screen.
Then it booted fine. I then double checked FOTA which told me IO was indeed on v007.
Oh, also I was on v006, and I think I had root switched on. I forgot about it, so it was probably on during the update, oops! I'll see if it causes any problems.

*EDIT* Ok, just checked quickly, and FX Explorer doesn't get root access, so hopefully I didn't mess up anything with root on while updating.

Yes mine was stuck on a black screen for several minutes, I probably waited 5 minutes at least with a black screen like you, but then at some point when nothing happened I presumed it had crashed and tried rebooting, sounds like I may have been too impatient and might have bricked it.

Have you tried flashing the firmware?

You probably no longer have the Root Switch!

Sorry guys ... But this is not normal ... App ota gives me an update .... I update my 180 euro box and I find myself with a black screen? I do not think he is serious towards those who spend money in times of economic crisis ..... And it says a man who has always bought Minix or recommended Minix .... now I ask you ... Please ... How can I solve?

Already asked & answered ;).

Not something I have ever attempted before, I checked out https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/enable-maskrom-mode-to-flash-u22-xj-firmware.3718/ if this is what's required? If it is, looks like I might have what's needed i.e. Win 10 PC + USB-C > USB-A lead but am not aware of anywhere I can download 20210923 - V007_20210923-1741 . . . would welcome any suggestions.
You linked to the V007 download earlier...
(I would advise people against doing this) in a post at https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/firmware.4154/post-35204 , the box crashed in an unusual way and needed a reboot.

Follow manual installation instructions.

I didn't wish to download what you described as a 'pre-public' version of V007 dated 20210824 in post #1 at https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/firmware.4154/#post-35204 , but some days ago I clicked on the .img link in post #8 at the link I posted above at https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/firmware.4154/post-35204 thinking given its title and owning a J50C-4 Max, that it might show an image of a 'U22-XJ Max' :) , but clicking on this link crashed the box :(.

I had no idea until reading about the Amlogic USB burning tool this afternoon, that manual FW downloads are suppled as .img files, learnt something there . . .

Thanks for the link to the flashing instructions pdf. The 20210923 - V007_20210923-1741 I downloaded via official FOTA yesterday as per instructions on Amazon (photo below) is newer version V007 dated 20210923 , but am not aware of any link to a download of this newer version?
