NEO U22-XJ Chrome browser behavior worries when using mouse

Hi, I consider buying Minix U22-XJ to replace my UGOOS AM6plus because old Minix U9 had superior CHROME BROWSER EXPERIENCE:
- go fullscreen via hold-leftmouse and drag up
- select text and do Google search
few to mention.

I use Android box with wireless mouse only. Very nice with my 75" Sony

Questions:
  1. Are there Minix U22-XJ problems with Chrome scrolling using mouse scroll wheel up and down? U9 scrolls mouse wheel just ok
  2. Does Minix U22-XJ Chrome browser still do fullscreen via left-mouse-hold and drag? As U9 did
  3. Does Minix U22-XJ Chrome browser still do mouse select text and right-click-on-text and then Google search on it? As U9 did
  4. Does Minix U22-XJ Chrome browser still do mouse right click on link and "open to new tab"? As U9 did

Hope you can clarify @MINIX - Martin

I know I am not @MINIX - Martin but I've tested for you with a Logitec MX Master 2S wireless mouse and can confirm the following with the included Chrome browser on the U22:
1. No problems scrolling up and down with the mouse wheel.
2. No, left click and drag highlights the text on the web page.
3. No, right click on the mouse returns you to the previous page.
4. No, same as #3 above.

Hi Marty thank you for replying!

Well ... I booted up the old U9 to double check how features work there.
See CORRECTIONS below to features I wrote here:

Go full screen in Chrome browser in Minix U9:
2. Left-click-hold and drag up (on page background or text) makes Chrome go fullscreen (no address bar).
Very nice experience - you get the full view for web page content.

Select text allows search + copy text in Chrome browser in Minix U9:
3. CORRECTION: Left-click-hold over text in browser
=> select text handles appear and "Copy, Paste, SelectAll, Google search" appears to the top of the screen.
I can select text and do search, very nice.

4. CORRECTION: Left-click-hold over web link in browser
=> Pop up menu appears allowing "Open to new tab / Copy link / Open to incognito tab / etc"
Extremely useful to open links in new tab to avoid page reloads.

Minix U9 is Android 5.x.

Are you sure these features are not there in U22-XJ box current software?

I believe the U9 came with Android 6 Marshmallow out of the box. Upgradable to Android 7.

Are you sure you have a U9? Maybe you have the U1...

In U1 year 2016 above great user experience (UX) worked in Chrome browser.
Now in state of the art U22 I read great UX is gone in Chrome.

Since U1 Android 5, suspect that Minix mouse API firmware has a glitch maybe.

What if: U22 Android firmware mouse user input layer towards Android API does not function properly.
Mouse left mouse press types to touch finger tap, tap short tap long, tap hold.

@MINIX - Martin please:
could some hardcore Minix mouse Android API translation RnD SW guy investigate?

I wanna buy U22 if you get this fixed. Otherwise stay with UGOOS AM6plus (with same Chrome browser UX bugs)
Kind regards,

I'm afraid it is a Chromium issue, the architecture that underlies most Android browsers out there. And it's not just an issue with the U22 or Minix in general it affects most if not all 'TV boxes' running what is effectively an operating system that was always intended to be run on touch screen devices i.e. phones and tablets.

Yes, with the U1 Minix were able to mimic the hold/drag and copy/paste functions on that device running that particular OS. That doesn't neccessarily mean it is possible on current devices like the U22 running Android 9.

Saying that there is a way to get the same hold/drag and copy/paste functionality you have on the U1 in a browser and that is to use a pre-Chromium version of Firefox, version 68.11.0 or earlier (usual caveats about using an older browser and potential security vulnerabilities inherent in that).

What really confuses me is I have the latest Firefox (92.1.1) running with full hold/drag and copy/paste functions on an expensive competitor box which is also Android 9, admittedly it is Android TV but if it is possible there then it can surely be possible on normal Android. My two cents worth as I know Minix are now looking into this so it might help.

Can I know the name and model of the box please? (even in private). The scrolling function with airmouse is very important for the use I do with the box.

the problem of scrolling with airmouse is NOT limited only to browsers but to many other apps ....

Have you any examples you'd like to share? I suspect some will be apps specifically designed for the Android TV operating system and others will utilise Chromium.

Amazon App
Solid Explorer files Manager
Gmail
Adobe Acrobat Reader
Microsoft Office
Ebay App (only within the description of the item offered for sale)
Safeincloud Password Manager

Other apps I tried months ago and uninstalled because they had the same problem. I'm sorry but I don't remember the name anymore. If I can think of others I will point them out here

Sorry for the late getting back to you.
After Chrome 6.0 version, mouse scrolling, copy, and paste functions are not supported. Because the new version of Chrome is compatible with touch screens, it is not compatible with air-mouse.
I can confirm that U22-XJ does not have these functions in the current Chrome APP.
