When you release the new version please try and keep the lock screen working. I'd just use the current beta firmware but I'm guessing nobody will seriously try to root it until we have a fixed version.

Running 7.1.2
Cropped screen (edges cropped)
Display set to "small" "Font size" (helped a little)
Any hidden menus to get full display.
Was able to set scaling in Marshmallow

why do you say that ??
do I really need to explain?
eg: Forum down for months, updates with bugs, no update since I bought the box months ago, IF there ever be an update I have to be an expert with a pc to do the update.
For this the only difference with any other cheepo box is the wireless mouse (nice to have)
But will wait until there is a stable version upgrade (thanks in advance)

I’d say... give them a break with the whole forums down anger issues since plenty of boxes out there have zero support from the manufacture.
At the end my the day, we can see they’re trying to solve things with an update coming down the pipeline and for those who unconstructively complain about Android 7 should be well aware its experimental and should thus stay on Android 6 (which is still the stable version).

Hi All,
Anybody willing to post some test results or walkthrough. If Kodi is out how is the build in mediaplayer?
From what I red the online updates are gone too...? how about the next version? do I need to manually install everything all over again? Better wait?
hey i updated to Android 7.1.2 and use k@di krypton with def NOT as many issues as i had before. dunno where or why ppl are saying it dosent work with the update. works better then it did

I have been running my Minix U9-H for the better part of 2 years now. I am on Android 6.0.1 and the firmware/build is: FW007A 20171020

Lately, the box has been acting a bit strange and hanging on certain menus etc.

I am wondering if there is a way to do a clean set up without having to reinstall Android?

Or, if there is a way to do a clean install of Android 6.0.1, where do I find that?

Lastly, should i stick with the firmware that is on the box or should i update it to something newer, and why?

Thanks!

You can try to wipe cache (in recovery menu). If that doesn't work, a factory reset (in Android settings) might be necessary. Lastly you could try to re-flash the firmware if you still have the issues.
The firmware you're currently using is the most stable one, so I'd recommend to stick with that one for now. However, a stable Android 7 firmware should be released soon, so if possible, you could also wait until Android 7 comes out.

Latest official firmware is F008 and is stable...should be able to update to this over FTA via the update app

Hello,
I tried Android 7.1 , and turn iT back to the old one.
Why? IT doesnt run that well on it , not smoot, on the 6 it runs perfect, so i Will wait.

minix neo u9-h why is half of my maine menu gone after upgrading the firmware to 7.1.2

You'll need to be clearer & more specific when reporting bugs, etc. with the beta.

Do you mean the settings menu for example???

It's still in beta development, expect bugs & glitches ;)!! Revert back to 6.0.1 if you can't live with it :). Hopefully team Minix have noted your missing items.

Hi, I want to report 1 bug of this fw version.
When U9-H running, I turn of the Television. After that, I turn on the Television and U9-H still running BUT nothing show on the screen, just a black screen with the mouse pointer of U9-H.
I need unplug the power adapter of U9-H and plugin again to reboot it. After do that, everything show on the screen.
So I think this is a bug of this firmware, please try to test it and let me know if you also have this problem, thank you!

Sorry for ignorance but help, please! I downloaded the tool and firmware from the very first post on this thread & believe I successfully flashed my U9. Android version is however still showing 6.0.1 and not 7.xxx - could someone please advise me what I'm doing wrong. Possibly when it's finished? as the closing down process on the tool is somewhat confusing, wasn't sure to click stop then unplug or unplug then click stop - last two steps on the guide seem to contradict each other - any help would be appreciated - thanks!

I am unable to get the flash tool to recognize the device?! I have the right cable and using the Micro USB side for the device... NOTHING any ideas?

I just updated mine and it works much better now! I'm using MX Player if audio pass-through is required, and KODI Leia for network files. I cannot get audio pass-through working in KODI, but there is MX Player for that. I can confirm that picture quality with 2160p movies is much better now. Also no more audio issues, like cracking noise, out of sync. I use the optical out to connect to my Yamaha rx-v383. It would be great to have a final Android 7 firmware though...
