Neo U9-H TV remote

Hello,

since I have installed the nougat os I have the following issue with the TV remote controller : After restarting the os, the tv remote controller does not work...the minix is on HDMI 1 TV port....I need to change the input HDMI port from 1 to 2 and then back to 1 using the same Tv remote controller...after doing this, it starts to work normally....
How to avoid this procedure and make it works directly?

Hello, I need to make a correction to my statement. It happens after I turn off the tv with its remote controller and afterwards I turn it on. It is not related to the restart of the os.

Hello. I have installed ATV launcher and the problem with the TV remote seems to be solved. Probably it works also with other lauchers, I do not know. My default view was without launcher.

Hello, I made a mistake in my previous statement. I am apologize for this. This morning I turn on the tv, and the same problem persists.
I have made some tries to figure out what is happening. And this is what I found : when I press the power button on the TV remote controller while the tv and the box are on, they go in stand by. The minix device after a couple of second change the light from blue to green. If i turn on both the devices with the power button before changing the blue light to green, everything is working. The only thing is that the screen is flashing 3-4 times. If I turn on both the devices after the light has became green, the tv remote controller does not work as explained before, so I need to change the input hdmi port from 1 to 2 and then back to 1. During this step, when i change back the port to 1, I see again the screen flashing (but only one time). So probably, the problem arise when the minix goes in stand-by (the green light). Any ideas?

I will try...but how the tv remote controller will work with the minix, if i disable the cec?

My advice is using two remote controls: (i always use this configuration and i have now problems)
One for the TV and other for minix (default IR remote control or for example A2 remote control)

And i always use CEC disable.

I am speaking for ir remote controller...i called it tv remote controller...i was thinking i was clear...i do not want to use two remote controllers...it is clear that if i use the standard minix controller, it will work without cec or also with cec...it doesn’t matter, because it does not use the cec, but it is directly connected to the minix....the problem is to use successfully the tv remote controller without using the minix one...it has additional buttons that the minix remote controller does not have ( the four colour buttons : yellow, green, red, etc), and i need them, because the app i use for streaming iptv uses this buttons...using two or more remotes, it isn’t a good solution....the minix is used by my parents...so the easier it is the better it will....

as advised by @notrui and also myself i prefer to use and would reccomend separate remote controllers for the TV and Minix to avoid CEC issues..
Suggest you look at getting a minix a2 or a3 airmouse ( I prefer a2 lite)

In all likleyhood that should be OK for your IPTV app...which one do you use by the way

I have used smarters, XC and now use Tivimate and all of those work fine with the IR remote

Ok, probably there is a misunderstanding...and probably I cannot explain the problem correctly to you... have already the a2 lite airmouse as you can see in the picture below. I have no problem with it no matter if the cec is enabled or not. It works fine and in every case. The problem arises with the second TV remote in the photo that is this one of the TV. I am using smartStb as program for the IPTV, this is the only one player that works fine with my iptv supplier (all the other have various problems with my iptv supplier, but this is another story....). As you can see in the picture of the tv, there are four colour buttons and they are present only on the TV remote, so I am forced to use the TV remote in order to fully utilize the smartSTB app. If I disable the cec (the cec on minix or the cec on the tv or both, no matter which one), the tv remote stop to work (not the a2 airmouse). So I would like to solve the problem with the TV remote (the first one on the left in the picture). I would like to avoid all the procedure explained before with the changing of the hdmi ports. Last but not least I would like to mention you that before the upgrade to nougat os, everything worked fine with the IR remote without any issue....I hope I was clear now :)

@Ronyn77

mmm weird, surely it must be some conflict of CEC since installing nougat on the u9.

I can only see one easy option and that is to go back to the previous firmware if everything worked fine there, or did you have a good reason to "upgrade" to nougat

Have you tried Tivimate recently, really suprised that your IPTV supplier wont .
work with it, its an excellent IPTV player.

The problem with CEC is even though it's supposed to be an industry standard that each manufacturer ultimately decides to implement it differently which leads to all sorts of problems. Some manufacturers even name it differently which further adds to a melting pot of BS.

If CEC works well it's great, it always worked perfectly for me with the U9-H & official firmware, for example, but if any problems arise only the manufacturer can resolve them so you'll just have to continue on with your existing workaround.

The U9-H has long reached end of life for updates, so don't expect a fix from the manufacturer in this instance.

CEC has rapidly become a serious headache because individual manufacturers just can't pull their respective finger's out!!

I can confirm that after upgrading the U9-h firmware to Nougat that the TV remote (ir) (CEC) does not work for me either. Its not a hardship for me since I have an external keyboard controller that works fine. However, on my X8-h Plus after the firmware upgrade the TV remote CEC functions fine. I'm not complaining since that is a tradeoff that I am willing to make. Just a word of caution to others planning to perform a firmware upgrade to nougat on U9-h to not rely on your current TV set-top box controller. If there is a solution though, I'm all ears.

"And i always use CEC disable"
.
Interesting comment. Are you referring to "CEC DISABLE" on the minix box or (and ) the TV?

I should add, that I am having the same issues on my u22xj max with having to use TV remote, minix remote and soundbar remote to get all things to start up.
My TV recognises soundbar and minix, but is so sporadic in starting up if I use minix remote.

However, once all is up and running and I use TV remote to switch off, all 3 devices.
And then, strangely enough, if I turn the TV remote on, all 3 devices start up without an issue.

If I have inadvertently hi jacked this thread by mentioning a different device to the OP, I am sure admin will place it on another thread.

CEC Disable - You can set this in MINIX settings
