Neo X8-H bricked, Help!

Hi,

I think I have a bricked Neo X8-H. It started a couple of weeks ago when it could just freeze in the middle of a movie. Then a couple of Days later it started do freeze after boot up. And since the last few days it freezes during boot, when the Andorid logo is visible, the Picture gets a bit distorted when it freezes.

Yesterday I red a about the USB Burning Tool and gave it a try but it failed about 8% in when it was "Downloading logo". The logfile said saomething about a timeout. My guess is that the X8 crashed, just as it did when I was watching movies. After that it won´t even show anything on the tv screen. I can see some red light in the optical output when I press the power button and thats all I get.

I also tried to make a SD-card to boot from but I couldn´t find a good solid instruction for this so I failed.

So, my question is if there is anything I can do to unbrick it? Is there a good instruction to make an SD-card?

Regards,
Fredrik

Thank you for your quick reply.
I understand where to get the .img-file but where can I find the files aml_sdc_burn.ini and aml_sdc_burn.UBOOT ?
In some forum threads they say that I need to open (extract) the files from the img-file but I´am not able to open the img-files.

Those files are created by the Burn Card Maker program, go back to the post and download the instruction file in post 1 and then download the Burn Card Maker program in post 2 from @Villa

Hi,

The instruction in post 1 is not very accurate. It seem to be written for an earlier version of Burn Card Maker. So i just left all the checkboxes checked and did a format. The I selected the image file and clicked Make. When its done i have the followin files on my sd-card:

aml_sdc_burn.ini
bootloader.PARTITION
X8_X8PLUS_X8H_FW009.img

In the instruction in step 1 they say that one file should be named aml_sdc_burn.UBOOT but I have no such file.
Is aml_sdc_burn.UBOOT replaced by bootloader.PARTITION and will this still work to boot my x8h?

Im asking because nothing happens when i try to boot my x8h with the sdcard. I have meassured the power supply and it gives 5v as it should. Is there a special trick with the recovery button (pin hole) - power button combo that i need to know?

Apologies, you are correct, the uboot that the instructions are referring to are for bootcardmaker which is also from Amlogic. The files you have from Burn Card maker are correct. When I have used this method I remove the power for a minute then plug back in, hold in the reset and then power on while still holding in the reset, I keep both pressed until I see the upgrade screen, length of time varies, if this doesn’t work for perhaps try a different SD card.
