NEO X8-H Plus Lollipop OS FW: [20170612]

I can confirm problem with ethernet after upgrade to Lollipop. It is working for short time, i can see list of movies on network server, but after press play on movie, start to download google play update or browse internet page, network stop working. Network settings still show IP adress and Internet connected, but its not true. Enabling fake wifi show the same result. Standard wifi connection works fine, but for playing media with higher bitrate its useleess.
 
I have what may be considered (after reading all of this topic) as an heretical question: if Kitcat works fine, why change to Lollopop?

Are there any real advantages? Will moving to Lollipop help my LAN videos run better/smoother (especially H265 / 10Bit videos)?

MInix Minix X8-h Plus does not have chipset capable of decoding smoothly hevc x265 10 bit, so NO in that respect.
 
Thanks to all who responded. I use the MiniX for convenience - scanning through LAN folders easy, much easier than with my Samsung9000. But - for playing HEVC265 or 10Bit, the MiniX stutters while the Samsung plays it effortlessly.

Guess I will stick to 'Things the way they are'.

x8-h plus shouldnt have any issues playing HEVC x265 8 bit
 
X8 h plus plays fine x265 8 bit videos (kit kat or lollipop) but can´t handle x265 10 bit.

Hi. You must be able to play without problems x265 8 bits with X8-H plus.
Maybe you have a network problem or similar, check your network (router) and your minix device.

You use WIFI or ethernet ?
If you use WIFI what is the distance from your router to minix device?

We must have everything working well so we don´t have any problems with streaming videos (for example from a local NAS).

Still no resolution for the network error with a cable?

I can only use WiFi but it is too slow around here to watch a movie.
 
is there any issues with youtube? none of videos able to watch in youtube now. I even factory reset the box. It is using the lollipop
 
.... Beyond annoying .... I have the MINIX X8 PLUS ... Not the X8-H ... i only seem to find X8-H info... does the lolipop version for X8-H plus work for regular X8 Plus - i successful installed kitkat again and shouldn't have a problem imaging the machine, i just want to know that there is a version for Just the X8 plus MINIX with lolipop
 
I have a X8-H Plus.
Upgrade to Lollipop was smooth using USB burning tool.
For Youtube, I use NewPipe on my Minix U1, and it works flawlessly, and without ads. I presume it should work just as well on X8-H Plus.
