Hi All

I Have a Neo X8-H Plus not booting up. When I power it up the front blue light & Red optical light come on for a second then nothing, that's all that happens.
Few months ago it crashed and switched off. Ended up having to use the USB burning tool to re-flash it to fix the problem.
Few days later it again crashed. But this time no signs of life from HDMI output (but lights for a second).
Tried to connect to PC via OTG but no link so cant connect it to PC to re-flash. Have tried starting the unit with recovery button pressed no luck , blue light and red optical light again on for a second and nothing.
Would appreciate any suggestions of how to fix if this problem if possible otherwise i guess this old well loved device's days are numbered

Thanks

Possibly a PSU problem.

If memory serves the X8-H requires power when connecting to your PC to reflash the firmware too, (hopefully the guys will correct me :)). If your PSU is iffy/blown, the USB Burning tool wouldn't link/see the device.

If the device still lights up for a second then drops out there may be hope that a replacement PSU will get you back up & running again.

5V 3A, (specs will be on the back of your existing PSU anyway). Reasonably easy to source at a local retailer or online :).

If you're feeling brave, you could also remove the underside of the casing to double check nothing is bent or broken at the back of the DC in socket.

@pat i noticed one thing.
You said you have a x8h plus but you posted here (x8h, x8 plus, x8 - these are different devices. ).
Please be sure what device you have (check the bottom of the box for example) and then reflash firmware for that device, if you can.

Thanks for the support guys :)
Can report unfortunately not the PSU as have tried few others with same specs 5v 3A and same result. My friend has same MiniX unit and tried his PSU (same Result).
Opened the minx and nothing looks out of the ordinary. Unit is a Neo X8-H Plus looking at the underside of the unit so opps, look like i have posted it in wrong forum sorry.
Firmware iv'e been using is for the X8-H Plus. I think It's fried, but don't want to give up on it.

You are in the right forum, only wrong device thread.
Check this:

This forum is for all minix devices except minix industrial devices (not supported here).

Could be a grubby or bent contact actually inside the DC in socket. Check there too.

Yes, can't flash as power dies after a second. Power connector looks fine. Problem developed after it crashed a second time. Screen froze , being unresponsive I unplugged it then re-powered the device. Since then it's been like this, dead as a door nail. I think an IC has died, or something. No expert but would love to give it a jump start some how to bring it back to life :)
