NEO Z83-4: BIOS v1.8

It is extremely important to check if the "Project Version" in BIOS is started with "CAT0A".
If the "
Project Version" starts with "CAT0C", then you can't use this BIOS, otherwise the device will become a brick, no reaction and cannot boot.

NEO Z83-4 BIOS v1.8 is available to download from below:

I try to update to BIOS 1.8 and when I double click on the update.bat file, a w10 window pops up for you to select the program to use, and then it doesn't update. I have w10 version 2018.
Thanks Torpe.

afuwinx64.exe is execute on Windows desktop.
afuefix64.efi commend is only execute on UEFI shell.

Extract the package to the root directory (not inside a folder) of a USB thumb drive - FAT32 formatted.
press "F11" on your keyboard during boot to enter the boot device menu.
Select "Built-in UEFI Shell" when you see the below boot device menu and hit "Enter" on your keyboard.
Type "fs3:" and then hit "Enter" to read from the USB drive (you may also type "dir" and hit "Enter" after this step to verify all the upgrade files are there).
Type "afuefix64.efi CHT0A180.bin /p /b /n /x” and hit "Enter" to execute the upgrade package, it shall take a few minutes and upon completion.

Update the BIOS on the Windows desktop. You have to copy all the files to the Windows desktop and type the following command or execute update.bat

afuwinx64.exe CHT0A170.bin /P /B /N /X
or
afuwinx64.exe CHT0A180.bin /P /B /N /X

In comparison to the BIOS V1.7, V1.8 added "Booting the operating system from a USB device(USB stick or external HDD)".
Because of the limitation of the internal eMMC(only 32GB) of NEO Z83-4, some users expect to install the OS into an external HDD or a USB stick with larger storage space.

Please note, this feature is ONLY available when you use the USB 3.0 port (NOT USB 2.0 port) on the NEO Z83-4.

For example, you can install an OS into an external HDD or USB stick (USB thumb), and attach this external HDD or USB stick to the USB 3.0 port on the NEO Z83-4, start the NEO Z83-4 and press F11, select the external HDD or USB stick option to boot that OS.

Hello,
I am very interested in this function. Is there a tutorial?

Whether in Windows or UEFI, i get the error,

46 - Error: Problem getting flash information.

Help?!

Hi Tinsen,
Hopefully you got this sorted out but if not, there was an option in my BIOS settings for Read/Write Protect the BIOS (or words to that effect, now I've updated my BIOS and that setting does not seem to be there anymore)
Set that to Off and you should be able to update your BIOS.
Hope that helps,
Arfadent

Thank You! That solved my issue and worked perfectly!

Hi. Does this bios fix the windows 1803 update problem? I don’t want to reinstall with the image because I have licensed programs installed in my Minix
