NEO Z83-4: Cannot get to boot from USB Stick

Hello,
I try to install a Linux on this box, but do not get very far.

F7 or F8 do not seem to make any difference during boot up, I always end up in Windows (keyboard is a perfectly fine generic USB type). I can enter the BIOS though, where I can change boot order. So I change the first entry from Windows Boot Loader to USB Key and upon reboot - I get the UEFI shell. If I exit it, (by typing exit), the USB's boot menu seems to load (instantly with Ubuntu, after quite a while with Manjaro), and it is reactive, however when I chose something (boot Ubuntu) the system seems to die and stays like that, until I unplug it (Power button not reacting).

I am on BIOS ver 2.17.1249.

Any ideas on what I could try?

Thanks @notrui2,

I did that already, but thanks for the heads up!
My question stays the same though ...
Most of these threads seem to part from the fact that it is obvious how to start the installation of a different OS, which is not that is happening here.

Is there maybe somewhere some authoritative documentation about how one should go about this? I know about F7 only from these forum, but I assume, somewhere these things have been written down ...

I have tried F11 (from older post) and now F7 and it doesn't boot. I never get the BIOS screen to choose by boot source. Did this on a Z83 a few weeks ago away from home (its still there) and now can't get it to work at home.

Its the 18.04 from the widely posted link on these forums and i used Rufus to create.

Any other ideas on how to get it to boot?

USB has the light flashing and if i let it boot into windows I can browse the file content on the stick.

Similar issue here, but I am at least able to access BIOS and to define the boot sequence...
I created a bootable USB Stick with Rufus (NTFS, stick handle WINPE) and
a) copied the files over manually, tried to boot, no success
b) created an ISO from the zipped latest official firmware (NEO Z83-4 Home: Windows 10 Home OS image [1903]), flashed this to the stick I previously formatted in Rufus, tried to boot, no success
Both attempts did not work out as I was not able to set the USB Stick plugged to the Minix to be used as boot device?
Any suggestions what needs to be set in BIOS?

In addition I tried to factory reset the current Image from Windows itself which seemed to work. At least machine rebooted, reset procedure was processed but the end result is a bootlop - finalizing installation 100% in Windows screen, reboot, bootloop.

Currently no clue what can fix those issue, please advice.
