NETFLIX on minix devices

So it is my understanding that the reason the netflix apps have never worked on minix devices isn't a hardware issue but rather a minix issue in that they never bothered to get their devices certified by netflix? is this correct??

Does minix intend on investing in getting their devices certified by netflix to provide a better user experince for their customers??

yes I know there is a kodi workaround but it sucks and is a poor user experience when compared to the native netflix app

Minix have tried to have Netflix certification in the past ..they have contact Netflix... Netflix have answer that they are not interest to "work with minix " .
This Netflix certification is only for make more money ,why DRM exist ? DRM L1 is the highest security level ,why its not enough for Netflix ??
The question is : how many does it cost ? How many the Price from each box is more expensive if they have Netflix certification ?

The best thing to do for peopel how need Netflix ...is to buy a certified HDMI stick if they not have a TV with internet ....this HDMI sticks are very cheap

Incorrect, as @AboxF has stated, Minix did try and get Netflix certification but Netflix were not interested due to Minix being too small, not main stream enough meaning they would not generate sufficient revenue for Netflix, it's all about the money these days unfortunately.

Again as @AboxF has stated, if Netflix is your goal then you are better off investing in a Netflix certified device.

Although not in full HD, Netflix does indeed work on all MINIX devices. ( Non Kodi ) I use Netflix across all my MINIX devices.
As @Marty mentioned above, Netflix are the ones who decide who they will certify, and yes it's all about $ & #'s

I’ve been using minix for years, MINIX back to at least 10yrs ago. I previously installed the Netflix app, which worked, now it can’t be install via playstore.

Then I used a browser which worked , now it’s not recognizing it. I’ve got another cheaper media device which works flawlessly and it’s puzzling cause to date we’ve got 4 NEO-U9H devices.

After reading some of the above posts, I realize it’s a minix issue with respect to certification, as opposed to a software upgrade.

Personally I like the Minix devices, they’re cost effective, stable and reliable. To date the Minix accessories like their Bluetooth aluminum built USB mini key pad and the dual sided backlit remote is convenient and effective.

To date , I use this remote with most android media devices with some software limitations.

Minix should find a better way to satisfy their owners, with a work around with respect to this Netflix discussion | dilemma ?

You've missed the point entirely. It's not a MINIX issue, it's a Netflix issue.

And how exactly do you expect MINIX to work around a certification issue that lies directly at the source with Netflix, & Netflix alone?

Maybe some well directed harsh language might just get Netflix quaking in their multi-billion dollar boots ;)?

Or, blatantly open piracy perhaps?

This may be somewhat satisfying for you (if only for an extremely short time period before Netflix ended up owning MINIX outright 2 months later), but it's obviously not going to end well for others, is it!!!

Sadly, satisfaction isn't always guaranteed & some problems just do not have work arounds!!

We as a family use Netflix daily on all the various MINIX devices that I have. Although not in full HD but in my opinion the quality is decent... I have older TV's anyway :( I can say that Netflix works on all my devices.
I never install the versions from the Playstore, I use this version....
