slimBOXtv: Android 9 Pie Custom ROM for U9-H

NB: For the 3 x USB 2.0 Ports to function a modification is required. (See image below)

But, there is no need to perform the mod if your soldering skills are not up to it (or you're just lazy like me)!
If you require USB Port functionality, you can use the Micro USB OTG Port along with a USB Hub.

You should find an OTG adapter cable in the original packaging that your device came in.

I use the slimbox firmware for the 22xj and it works great for me, especially since I use it for Plex since the original minix firmware does not go especially with audio. I would try to install the firmware on u9-h but I saw an image that you probably have to weld a wire to create a bridge but it is not explained well ... so I look forward to new developments.

Yah, the welding part seems a bit sketchy. I don't get it either. I'm going to wait and see. I downloaded the image, but I don't intend to install it until there are more people that can vouch for it. I'm not willing to do any welding or hardware adjustments so, that would be a deal breaker for me.
Meanwhile, Android 7.1.1 is working perfectly well for me right now so I am in no hurry.

I don't know for sure, but it's possible that one of them is. I just don't know. What I do know is that Amlogics have not, nor intend to release a firmware for this chip and its up to independent developers to do, so its a bit of a gamble either way.
I want to point out slimbox does not make new firmware with later android versions but is limited to improving or possibly modifying the one provided by minix itself.

The latest amlogic version was 6.0 so its a big jump to 9.0. I sincerely hope it works.
maybe I was not clear you do not move to the next version of android .. but at most they revisit or modify the original firmware released by minix. there is no change left at 6 or at most at 7 provided by users (administrators) minix.
to make you understand look at my signature below... u22xj fw007 (slimbox 15.2) this means that the firmware is always fw007 modified by slimbox.

ok, I must admit I am not familiar with slimbox. So the modified android 6 or the CF001 Android 7.1.2 used by slimbox is still using the base firmware but modified to work as android 9 PIE ? Am I reading that correctly ?

Like @Nick.P I understood it differently as the developer does state it is Pie:

Only time will tell as I will give this a go in a few days time.

Ok, so soldering is not my greatest skill but got the job done non the less:

Notes:
- USB is working fine, I have the A2 Lite dongle in and the remote works as well as transferring files via a USB thumb drive.
- All Apps button was not working but there is a button manager included in the Slimbox firmware
- When I safely removed the USB thumb drive via Minix Metro the system reboots

Thats about it for now, I have to say this firmware is snappy but I will need more time testing apps etc.

Thank you for your feedback.
I can see that it is necessary to solder (which I am not comfortable with and I don't even have the tools).
The ideal was to update the firmware without having to solder :(

Thank you @Marty . So you have confirmed the need to solder. I suspect that the soldering is specific to the USB ports and that their function is not tied to the firmware alone. You have also confirmed that the firmware is an upgrade to PIE android 9. The soldering does not seem too difficult but since I am not comfortable I might wait it out.

I apologize for the automatic translation into English. I use a slimbox with two soldered jumpers for usb ports. Of the minuses: the 3.5 audio output to the headphones does not work, the LED does not work adequately, it lights up blue, but when turned off it turns gray-green as if in sleep mode, it does not turn on back through the air gun, only through the button on the console. Sometimes the set-top box spontaneously reboots, especially when playing 4k content.

Thank you @mealen for your insight. I understand that the headphone jack will not work properly and the console reboots automatically on its own. The audio jack is not a problem for me, but the boot problems would be.
thanks again

Well I was doing a little bit modification on Slim firmware u9h I changed the bootloader and a couple of files now my box would turn on and off it's a little bit faster than the regional firmware and it's working real well I managed to turn on and off without any issues

Dear antonio6o6, you can post your corrected version of the slimbox, I'll be happy to test it.
